Besides the Omni vs. BM balance debate, it's also just for variety's sake. The only Clan heavy BM in MWO is 75-tons.

Frankly every class except assaults has this issue. For some odd reason Clan assaults have an absurd concentration of battlemechs while the Clan heavies/mediums/lights are predominantly Omnis.

yeah but a dragon IIC would be 60 tons not 45

and a battlemech not an omnimech

the whole point was to add a 60 ton clan battlemech

I think theyre just gonna have to make one up

But the Thresher is a Battlemech. I mean, it isn't the greatest selection there is, but adding something like that provides both an Omnimech and Battlemech 60-ton option with noncompeting roles.

Don't miss the Hellfire 2, has a stock 300 engine, 360 cap.

Yes and no.

An omni has engine, engine slotted heat sinks (if any), endo steel, and ferro armor options all locked. In exchange, they get the ability semi-customize hard points through the omnipod system (as well as possibly optional lower arm and hand actuators).

Battlemechs have all of the usual customization options, but lack the omnipod hard point customizations.

Just as an example, I wager a lot of players would love to downgrade the Timber Wolf's engine to a 350, or the The Ice Ferret's 360 down to a 325. Or add endo steel to the Nova, or slot heat sinks into the Stormcrow's engine. How many people wish they could combine the Hunchback IIC B's missiles with the C's arm lasers? Or the Orion IIC B's double lasers arms with literally ANY of the other Orion IIC's left torsos.

lol yeah I was kinda joking. Imo Battlemechs are so much better than Omnimechs, but then I rarely change omnipods anyway and if I do it's to make a variant from Sarna that isn't in MWO Posted Image

The Dragon IIC already exists.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Great_Wyrm

It's a medium Omnimech though...
Sorry about this quick "Um Actually" moment, but the Great Wyrm is a Battlemech, not an Omnimech. In fact, it's article clearly states that the arrival of the Omnimech pretty much spelled doom for the Great Wyrm.

Eh, I guess I know this stuff because I really quite like the Great Wyrm and would love to see it in MWO.

Gib Champion plz

You need to ask PGI that ;)
If you wonna vote for it though: use the option between Black Hawk KU and Crossbow in the 60t Mech bracket.

Thresher and Hellfire
Both are looking promising due to their loadout (MASC and/or JJs)

No engine swap, locked in jjs/masc or whatever else you might not want.
Locked structure and armor.

Assuming good hardpoints, battlemechs are always better.

I agree that variety sake is an excellent argument for having both omni's and battlemechs at every weight if the game is around that long.

I'm digging the Hellfire above all others. Funky yet cool design, lots of hardpoints, just seems fun.

Hellfire is really blocky, much like Lupos...hit boxes will make clansman cry..
Thresher on other hand is almost Summoner like, which is much better.
