So apart from the Wolfhound 1b with its ams range quirk and dual ams. The Javlin 10N and 10F with dual ams and 10% rate of fire quirk. Are there any other good dual ams IS boats around? I been using the 10F with dual ams and quirks and its excellent. Making a "NO" fly zone near my heavies and Assaults is quite enjoyable. Yes I could use a clan mech and do it better but thats not what I'm after..

Quirk wise, no. I can't find any heavier mechs with both dual AMS and quirks for them.

Those appear to be the only dual-AMS IS 'Mechs which actually get AMS quirks. There are loads that can mount two AMS, though.

My standout pick would be the CRB-27, if quirks aren't an absolute requirement. Even if you spend the tonnage and slots for two AMS and enough ammo to last through most rounds, you can build a 'Mech around that which is still good even if you don't run into LRMs. Anything lighter, and the AMS is eating a major chunk of your payload space. If you ton up to a medium for multi-AMS shenanigans, you can hang around and play support, but you can also stand and fight. The Crab is tanky as hell and its weapons of choice (lasers) are light enough in tonnage and crit requirements to comfortably share space with the extra hardware.

If you're going to go ams boating or are just tired of lrm spam you want at least 2 ams and for a dedicated ams boat with the skill tree for ams. The bad thing about ams is being ammo dependent. sure you can use laser ams but you'll take a lot of heat for it. Lams will raise your heat every single time it is fired. It's quite easy to kill your self with over ride and lams in the middle of a fight because you fired a few lasers.

my favorite ams boat is the locust 3m LCT-3M AMSx2

It has er smls with 400m range, decent speed for the xl which is faster if you have speed tweak and general goes unnoticed standing to a heavy or asults mech.

Jester is a good ams boat too for the heavy class.
JESTER AMSx2

here's one for fire starter.
FS9-S amsx2

Wolfhound version.
WLF-1B amsx2

Reason I went with mostly lights is if you want to be the lrm killin ams mech you'll want to move to get with ams range of who ever is being lrm-ed. Lights get there double time. They also turn invisible when next to an assault or heavy. you can always down grade the suggested builds from med las to er smls for more ammo. Er smls get around 400m range depending on quirks and st fire power range nodes.

AS7-K...no I'm not joking.
Sure it is a funbuild....but you also have more armor quirks at higher speed and mobility than an Annihilator while still having acceptable firepower and decent heatmanagement.

Honestly it sounds like two LAMS crab is ideal. Who needs my piddly 4 ML that bad anyways? If LAMs is needed then I am ruining a LRM asset's match, said LRM boat is probably investing more in heat

No no no, even one lams is very hot, and when you doing two on laserboat you will spend most of the match either not shooting at all or with your lams turned off.

The only mech I risk even putting 1 LAMS on is my Heatless Night Gyr running dual C-Gauss and MG's, and obviously, only run it because the mech itself doesn't produce any heat nor take any from the environment.

The Lobsters'
Thanks for the list mate, I hoping there were more dual ams mechs but looks like I'm still missing a few for my collection.

No probs.

It made me look at the summoner again, for a non erppc build that might be useful.

+15% ams range
+20 ams rate of fire

They're pretty good quirks for a dual ams heavy.

Pro-tip: Never use 3xLAMS on a Kit Fox.

Annihilator 1E dual AMS, if there is one mech that will be the target of a boat it's an Annihilator you can soak an ungodly amount of missile damage in that thing.

AS7-K dual AMS Atlas another prime target for missiles

Stalker 5S makes for another great steel umbrella since it's usually in the center of a team.

I love the AS7-K, however, even with the up-armor, still underperforms as an Atlas. Problem is firepower. SRMs and the AC20 is the hard hitter from the Atlas. This is why the S and DDC are the most popular and powerful. K is fun to play, but you are a 100 ton with the guns of a 65 tonner...

while I like the incentive here... there is no IS mech that can keep up with clan ams power.

the max you can reach on the IS side is less than 50% of the ams dps of the top clan ams mechs.

And nothing else but ammo (12000 rounds). Gonna rack up the matchscore. Posted Image
