Ok yeah so I know the min specs and rec specs tend to be marketing BS, but what's the real minimally viable spec to run MWO?
At home I have an i7+1080GTX so that's not an issue, but now I'm on the move and running on my 640M and i7 (yes I know the laptop chips are gimped) laptop, doing 1366x768 full windowed and everything set to LOW, in Crimson Straits I do around 15-25fps, which makes combat awfully difficult to perform, in the thick of things it's probably 15fps with a sluggish mouse.
On the plus side my hotel's wifi is surprisingly good, 250/270ms/9ms NA/EU/O. And it's supposed to do only "surfing" but I could download MWO from Steam and play the game haha psych!

640M - announced back in 2012...so it is technically within the last decade
Definitely a can of compressed air on the heatsinks that are reachable.
Set to Power Options to High Performance and dont run off of battery.
Run 32bit MWO instead of 64bit on non-patch days with the shortcut listed in the linked thread.

Also consider setting up a user.cfg in your MWO folder with this line in it sys_MaxFPS = 30
The idea is to prevent the CPU from turbo boost, layman temporary overclock, which generates excessive heat which can then cause CPU to throttle down.

The GT 640M was super low tier when it was released.

I'm still using a GeForce GT 240 and get about 25fps with 1366x768 and everything on low.
I'm also using the Razer Cortex which doesn't seem to do anything

My GPU died so right now I'm using my i5-4670k Intel4600GFX with 30ish calm - 25ish fighting.

Can confirm. Someone had moved my tower and connected the HDMI to the mobo instead of my graphics card. With my 4790k (which has the same graphics) I got similar results.

My comp i think is right on the verge of just hitting min specs and still get decent frames. Tracking lights can be hard with frame dips, but other than that i do all right.
I5 3550 + TI-550. I hope to build a new system next year

Use to use gt450 512. 10-15 fps with everything turned off. When I got shot by lasers like 5. Game was unplayable for me.
