Because there's two options, Quick and Faction play- and Faction play devours newbies and spits out their bones.

QP is not only the basic level of involvement, it's the fundamental bedrock on which everything else is built.

And there is no skill-basis in the matchmaker. People prefer T3 because right now, it's the closest thing to their skill level as PGI frogmarches anything with remotely decent capacity up towards T2 and the traffic jam of veterans hungering for fresh meat.

Heck, I'll be T1 by the end of this event. Goodness knows I'm no super-player. I like missiles far too much.

IMO, our rank system should represent how that pilot performs in that mech.
So basically, "MWO Super Alt" would have a different rank in a HBR-F than in a DRG-1N.

it need s a lot of games to deifne a pilots performance, if you make this on a mech based level, then good luck waiting 5 years before people with multiple mechs not stickign to a chassis get finaly good well sorted matches. In fact people cna heavily abiuse this mechanic to stomp lowies if it's per mech based.

Don't make it entirely 'mech based, then. Say 75% of your tier is global and the other 25% is 'mech based. You still get matchmade at a lower level with a 'mech you're bad at, but not to the point that you can stomp tier 5s.

That'd be because you were playing on a computer that wasn't actually able to play MWO, given 15 FPS is essentially unplayable (especially for a light). Note that the last two seasons, you shot up like a rocket and have a very respectable 1.86/1.9/306 W-L/K-D/average match score this time. You won't be T5 for long at that rate.

Again, the only way to be perma T5 is to have never been capable of fundamental parts of gameplay to begin with. That computer clearly counts, considering the difference between your current performance and your earlier one.

that coincides with finally breaking down and replacing the old toaster (back in '13 this toaster barely did 35fps) with a refurbished gaming 'puteer that now gets 60+ fps. truth be known i have almost taken a year off due to the game finally becoming unplayable on my toaster. but still without a stat wipe or a redue of PSR i will be T5 for a long time due to my over all stats. the truth be known a Newbe with 100 games will get to T1 easier then an old guy with 1000s of games if those 1000's of games are very low W/L.

Even though you may be firmly entrenched in tier 5, the bar will eventually speed up if your performance becomes good consistently due to having proper hardware. Like if you are consistently 300+ matchscore every game, win or lose, you will get out of tier 5 in no time.

Just had another one of those 30% neg wlr average 150 MS guy in my match. Lifetime of 14k games and the guy is the first to suicide ingame. Lifetime and monthly stats matched. Frequently plays 700 to 1000 matches a month!

Why are these really bad players in T1?

These people actually exist!!!!!!

Or are they bots?

Really shouldn't be in T1 matches. Its crap all the way around.

I have news for you. There is no such thing as a "negative" W/L in MWO. It's mathematically impossible. That a lot of players insist otherwise just shows ...

This was addressed earlier on. Yes was referring to WLR<1. People understand. Don't be so **** retentive about it. Don't derail thread if you haven't read through the last few pages.

Yes and I'm curious what does it show? Please educate us rather just insinuate with a snarky remark.

Since you asked: people are terrible with even basic math and yet insist on talking statistics . <shrugs>

And this is related to the topic how?

The bottom 30% of the population should simply not be in T1 matches.
