I use 2 HLL, 4HML, and an ECM. Yeah i cant take a shot to save my life..and i HATE the amount of friendly fire in T4 but...murder machine on the rage!
I get a nasty 76 alpha.
Its all about knowing the maps, where to be, and when to get the **** out!

I don’t hate it. It does need some defensive quirk love, tho.

Cant we just make a "brag" section on the forums?
That way we can people can post their high damage screenies without the need to try and hide it behind some other title.

If that's the criteria for how good a mech is, that would also make stuff like Trebuchets or stock Urbanmechs good. Personal anecdotes of 1000+ damage games are a dime a dozen, which is why they shouldn't be used as a basis for balancing.
The Cougar's weaknesses (bad hitboxes, low health, low mobility) outweigh its one strength (heavy laser boating). That doesn't mean people can't do good in the mech, it just means that the odds are stacked against them and it's an uphill battle.

If you want a challenge, I have 1k damage matches IN A THANATOS.
In fact, more than one variant of that walking barn...

Guys we are talking about the ONLY mech in the game that has two floppy drives. Plus it can take two PPCs and poptart along with ECM, it's quite curious mech.
I think my top damage with it is about 700 which includes two strikes, but I like it. I haven't yet tested many things with it.

It’s just a glass cannon...so “yes” it can do 1k+ (I have done 1200+ in it...hooray me..lol) but that result is not anywhere close to typical for me with it. You have to catch “lighting in a bottle” for a match to do those kind of numbers...i.e...get ignored (or not seen under ECM) , have the match be reasonably close or at least reasonably long (to get your damage out) , etc.. So, sure great matches happen, but it’s also just so fragile and slow that it’s a risky mech and really bad matches happen as well. A single mistake is punished hard in that mech. Therefore, one is likely to have less consistency as far as performance goes with it Vs. many other mechs close to its weight. I like it and enjoy the challenge of running it...but it is a challenge to run it and therefore idk if it could be considered a good mech vs. other choices. Probably not...
