Hi Feezou,

I don't run any Phoenix Hawks but I've had Blackjacks equipped similarly; you might to get many kills but you can be a harasser and get a lot of assists. You will be quite mobile so, you know, keep moving.

Good hunting,

The question is what you want to achieve. What do you expect from the mech?

For brawling or sniping for example the build lacks some punch, i see it more like a second-line fire-support where you can afford some facetime as long as you have assaults around. But in this role i think 4 Lasers and 2 Light MGs would perform better.

For optimization of the current build:
You probably don't need that many JJ since AC2s are not the best choice for poptarting and 1-2 JJ are usually enough for movement, especially if you intent to support your assaults.

And if you add light FF you can add more armor or half a ton additional ammo. You should definitely fully armor your arms since all your firepower lies here. Only 30 pts on legs with ammo is also quite risky.

No that build isnt really viable.

Take advantage of the quirks. I'd run it like this. You can swap out the weapons to get JJs but Im not a fan of them.

Looking...

As is... Front the armor forward more and remember to stay at range, use the medium lasers as a last resort. Head armor can be reduced by 10 without worry and funneled to the legs; with your speed people will want to leg you. You could probably cut 2 JJ to get an extra ton of ammo. Good for harassing people.

Suggestions:
If you cut the engine size down you can pack in much heavier firepower. You can trade the AC/2s for a Heavy PPC in the right arm or right torso which will deliver 15 damage per hit if you want to be a sniper. Trading the two AC/2s for a Light Gauss, or them plus the engine for a standard Gauss, can also get you the same thing without the heat issues.

Personally I like sporting RAC/2s or RAC/5s, given the mech's size probably better to sport RAC/2s or a single RAC/5 or AC/10 or Ultra/5. If you go the 5 route back it up with additional lasers.

Also: No matter what...
Equip stealth armor.
You'll have to activate it manually and keep an eye on it... but not showing up on enemy signatures even up close is a godsend.

Note: My suggestions have not taken quirks into account.

Effective? As Dag said, only in a support role and only for as long as your ammo lasts. Fixed your link to improve armor and ammo a little but still basically the same.

I haven't played a Phoenix hawk in forever, but here is something I'd at least give a fair go with.

I'm not sure how high the RT mount is, so if its lower, you can always pull the ERPPC and swap it with a LGPulse

You got the second line support part right. I think I'll cut the jump jets down so I can pack more of a punch. Thanks for the advice.

Build seems pretty bad. Also stealth armor is worse than just upgrading the ECM nodes in your skill tree. I'd recommend getting those nodes, that way you're practically invisible to enemies past about 270m (you should probably be around 350m away at least as a second line mech) all without the space and heat of stealth armor.

Your build of dual AC2s and dual medium lasers has no synergy, the AC2s are long range with short cooldowns and the medium lasers are close range with mid length cooldowns, and the two groups don't really have enough firepower on their own to form an effective bracket build.

Personally I run my one with dual ERPPCs and jump up to take shots on enemies while concealed by ECM.

Occasionally I'll swap the ERPPCs for a single HPPC and bring along a couple MPLs to cover the HPPC 90m deadzone.

You could throw on a RAC5, though its somewhat dangerous due to the face time required and not really that damaging, but you can try to stick with a bigger mech and fire on his targets to blind them while also providing your ally with ECM coverage.

I use 2 lrpls (one in torso) and 2 lmg(1/2 ton ammo) with good results. Keep the JJ, quite useful on the phoenix
