The fact that like half of the variants have ECM means that PGI will give it weaker quirks than normal, despite ECM being far weaker today than it has ever been (if you don't spend 12 skill points on it you're better of not wasting the tonnage).

I think it'll have to be played as a purely, as a support mech with LRMs and AMS
Even heavily quirked you won't be able to brawl in that thing.
Really, look at its hardpoints coupled with that ECM.I mean what are you suppose to put on that thing?
Standard srm 4s and MLs?
Again, thing will probably be relegated to something akin of a poptart LRM i think.

I was thinking about some sort of ERML + MRM midrange striker because Lurms are too gimmicky (and heavy) and SRMs are too risky for this robot (assuming lack of armor quirks).
Using SSW I was able to theorycraft a build (on the main variant) of 4 ERML, 2 MRM10 (2.5 tons of ammo), 14 DHS, LFE 270 (because XL is too squish), Endo, and LFF. JJs and ECM skipped entirely to save tonnage. Not horribly impressive.

Weaker? Weaker with out the nodes, I can see, but it seems to work pretty good.
I mean...my Grinner sees pretty good success with it + seismic. Had a nasty nasty nasty carry in it last night and solo'd the last 3 mechs on the battlefield.
Problem with IS ecm is its heavy AF and takes up a stupid amount of slots.

Yeah pretty underwhelming....especially since smaller MRM racks are pretty much poop.

That's the rub, I'd rather spend my skill points on stuff that's more universally applicable like heat gen, beam duration, cool run, armor, etc. instead of ECM.

Yeah I agree, it freaking chews up a lot of ST value, no argument here. I concur.

It sure does help the Hellbringer be more effective and annoying.

Scaling is good. No, check that- very good. The Hellspawn, minus its shoulder launchers, stands right between the Ice Fridge and Shadow Cat in height. It is shorter than the Blackjack, while being as fast as a Phoenix Hawk. The arms are going to be problematic; they're pretty big and wide. Some arm durability will be necessary in the long run, especially with the high shoulder missile racks loaded.
However... those high arm mounts might be good, situationally. Look at where the cockpit is- you could expose only your cockpit and missile launchers (and that funny little antenna which, I have no doubt, will be a CT damage magnet) if you were running, say, a Paralyzer with MRMs and ECM. That could be good. Or maybe an 8P with a poptart SRM config? It's has to expose so much less than even a BJ-2 to unleash the same amount of splat.
Should be an interesting little puzzle to figure out.

The RT (nose section) only gets +5 structure on most of them. The RA and LT get good armor across the board at least. Half of them get armor on the LA and half don't. Only one of them even gets leg structure, and a tiny amount at that (+4).
This feels more like dartboard-balancing than anything I've seen in MWO to date.

Not that I'm buying a Hellspawn, but at least they might be a bit nicer to look at.

EDIT: Wait, now that I'm looking at them again, the ECM doesn't even line up with how the quirks are given out. It's like someone had a stroke mid-quirking.
