Some seem convinced it's the Crusader. If it is, I'm kinda baffled by that choice. Does the IS really need a 4th mech in the 65t category?

There is a whole thread about this subject, and most of us there agree it's probably another PGI original, seeing as no mech known has missile hardpoints set like that.

it might be a rising star (pgi made) varinat similar to the Legacy.

there are actualy not many mechs that use those shoulder points especialy combined with the round shoulders.

tech base is however most likely innersphere.

the only other mechs that come somewhere close to that design are the:

mangonel (heavy/3078/ lasers/ too blocky)
revenant (quad mech/laser /light/ too thin)
Tian-zong (heavy/ballistics/ 3090 no missiles at all)
Longbow (assault/different missileboxes/LRM based)
O-Bakemono (assault/differnt angle/diferent missile boxes/Arrow IV Based)
Orochi (Assault/3084/Thunderbolt based/different launchers/profile)
