Crusader?
Anoobis?

What is?!
it looks like a light too because we just got a heavy

Maybe it's the crusader after all
because the Crusader has weapons in the legs and PGI doesn't want weapons in the legs if i remember
then again 4 srms? or 3 is too much

That was my first guess, but there are some issues:

1. PGI only draws concept art for the loadout of the Primary variant. In this case, the Primary Locust IIC has nine lasers. Not missiles.

2. There isn't a canon Locust IIC with quad SRM6 (PGI could make one up, but refer to point #1).

3. We're already getting the Piranha pretty soon, so two Clan lights in such a short time span seems unlikely.

But you're right, it could be a Crusader as well. Here's a side by side comparison of the two.

Sorry scout, def not a Locust IIC. The cockpit is not in the right spot.
ABS-3R

A variant of the Anubis meant to increase its short term and short range firepower developed in 3064[6], the 3R removes two of the LRM-5 launchers and replaces them with a Rocket Launcher 10 and two Rocket Launcher 15s. BV (1.0) = 749[3], BV (2.0) = 970[7][6]

It can't be tho. No one in their right mind would want this mech.

Otherwise Brigand? Again, nothing super appealing but leaps better than the Anubus

I hope if they announce this at mechcon and it is indeed another PGI original that they get booed off the damn stage.

Why not? I mean, yeah the tall launcherboxes on the STs are doing it no favours hitbox-wise, but the mech is fairly quick, comes with ECM and Stealth armour pre-installed, and is all-around a fairly nice mech. The only issue I see with it is that, being lanky as hell, it's gonna suffer under the nightmare that is Volumetric scaling.

We just got the Osiris, and the Anubis is designed to be paired with it... same tonnage and speed... a little bit strange but it fit well.

Look like a Hawkwolf, 80tons IS assault, but it's out of the tech and time frame...

Also it's adorable. Cute 'mechs are the best 'mechs.

it looks like it has arms to me. you guys are blind.

I very clearly see a gun barrel (possibly 2 gun barrels) on what looks like an arm on the left hand side

I believe the missile pods are definitely its side torsos and it has gun barrel arms with 2-3 hardpoints each.

and I dont think its a light mech. its at least a medium IMO.

Will be fun if this is second non-canonical mech from PGI.

oh come on with the needless hate, the Roughneck is a good, well designed mech. if they keep up this quality in other original designs, i would not mind at all. as another guy here said, its better to have something new and original than just redesigning stuff of the 80's from pictures that look like drawn from a child.

Catalyst Decides what's canon, the Deimos was added to the battletech Universe because Mektek's Modding proved to leave a mark and thus was given the ability to add a mech to the universe.

Yes, I know that. Sarna's conservative on this sort of thing, and there are no recordings or published statements from Catalyst.

On topic...
The head screams Wasp/Stinger to me, though the Crusader's also a good candidate in my mind.
The Hellion also looks like a fair match.

My not-so-shortlist would have to be;
Anubis (though the art only has 5 tubes per torso)
Hellion (though the art has more tubes on the right, not the left)
Mandrill
Ursus
Dervish
Hellfire (though the art has more tubes on the right, not the left)
Blood Kite
Savage Coyote
Viking
Jupiter

I still think it is a Crusader or PGI original.

I've gotten over the Roughneck. Where my problem with a new original design lay now is that there are tons of chassis that we have been begging for that people want to check off their lists, and if they do an origianl design instead of those then nobody gets to check anything off their want list and we just get a 'mech that nobody really cares about.
