I wouldn't mind playing the tabletop, but it doesn't have an OGL like D&D 3.5 does, and there's nobody around to play with anyway. Watching for Baradul/MoltenMetal to show up somewhere. If he does, I'm expecting a "Hello MechWarriors, how is it going?" greeting.

Huh, did notice. It was over the top with a frigging lava gun and a shield generator of all things!
Didnt have nothing against the Mech Assault games. Just that the usable story parts should make sense in an overarcing sensible way for canon.
I remember when I didnt have the PC and time to endulge myself wit hsome MW4, MA was a quick fix for some minutes blasting away. hated the pickups and that ALL incoming fire were CT centered.

But hey it was a an arcade game like the older top down/ desert strike clone for the genesis? So I take it for what it is. Hope both games come for Xbox one though, i will lose myself with them among the hours fro MWO, MW4/ 5, Battletech when the latter two come out.

The "lava gun" isn't too much of a stretch actually. It doesn't shoot lava, it's plasma-based and BT already has several forms of plasma weaponry.

The shield should probably be ignored though.

For fun, I actually theorycraft-built the Ragnarok using BT rules...mostly. Quad LRM5 simulate the Mechassault "Javelin" missiles, twin Gauss, XL Gyro, Endo-Comp structure, XL300, 12 DHS, with 14 tons left over for the "lava gun" (which seems reasonable given how much damage that weapon did in MA).

Anyways, for MWO I think that it would be a great April fool's joke for PGI to post MWO-style concept art of the Ragnarok. Just for funzies.

Huh, true about the plasma bit, didnt think of that.
I imagine it would be a top tier class of plasma cannon, like several steps above the plasma rifles.
