Has anyone even got a Mech or free MC as a grand prize?

I've gotten a commando and multiple of 25/50 mc from it.
I also know someone who's gotten a banshee from it and another guy who got 500mc

Open caches because they are the best MC to cbill converter option available, not to win mechs.

Never won a mech, but MC-prizes a few times. 500MC was recently a week or two ago.

Sure, its rare. But if you only use MC won through events, everything is a bonus, imho.

If it would be cheaper to get a mech or mc with lootboxes then buying it directly,
they have understanded something wrong about lootboxes.
The house allways win.

I did once won a mech (CN9-A), with relatively low number of tries. Irony is, i already had such mech from very start, and got another one from NCIX giveaway..

I advice not to gamble with caches. Just watch youtube how Kanajashi or Molten Metal do open them in a row. Will give you enough thrill, for free.

Plenty of mechbays, and plenty of MC. Of course, you gotta be smart about opening the type of crates.

I used to sell all the ones that didn't have a mechbay in them, then I got 30+ keys from an event last year, so I've been opening them all. Still have keys left over, and about 6 supply caches which I'm saving for the upcoming revamp. The new ones can't be any worse than the current ones and they're free, so why the heck not?

I used to open them, best I got was a couple mech bays. Usually it was the lowest value "prize" in the crate, which was still better than the sell price of the crate. But I'm out of keys now, and just sell the crates for Cbills when I get them.

I thought so too and expected PGI to say something at mechcon about it but they didn't. I'm guessing it got put on hold while they finish Solaris.

^^This. Save your MC. Pick and choose the right ones, dump the rest for cash, or hold onto them to see what kind of refund you will get when they switch to the new system....Soon™

Personally, I mostly opened the ones with 50MC as one of the teal ones. Took a chance on some others, but only with free keys I got during events.

I think ive opened about 50 or 60 boxes, I won one light mech once and one 1000mc prize. I also saw a Pirates Bane as the grandprize twice but never won that one. Had to buy that little beasty

Can you prove this? I've always been confused because there is absolutely 0 display of what chance I have of winning each item. I assume the chances of winning the more valuable items is on par with "rare" and "legendary" drops from other major RNG loot based games. This assumption leads me to believe most of these loot crates are a terrible deal.

I'm wondering what happens to my keys when the keys are removed from the game though. I always sell Supply Caches, because I'm simply not a gambling man, and a guaranteed 50k CBills is better than a chance at anything less, so I have quite a few keys.
