Camping basement is demonstrably bad. It doesn't even make sense theoretically.

Different strats for different cats, yes, but some things are just stupid. Camping basement as a team gives up 99% of map control to the enemy for free, with the only tactical benefit being that you've entered the 'Who's Team Get's Bored Faster' raffle, only the enemy team can at least move around and look at the sky box while they wait. Camping basement as a small group removes several mechs from the fight, basically ensuring that your team is fighting at a severe disadvantage while you piss time away.

It's bad. Don't do it.

Thanks for the good reply and not bashing me.

Anyway, after reading your comment about map control, I have to agree with you then. I guess it's yeah.. Stupid to camp at the basement while your enemy can freely roam around the map setting up ambush on every exit of the tunnel.

Going in the basement is bad, mkay..

It can work but the conditions needed for it to work as so precise, it'd seriously not worth doing.

For a start, everyone must do it..because if you don't your split and you lose.

I shouldn't need to mention this, but the only mode it will work on is skirmish..

You must pack the corners, and not move.

You must wait, and wait some more, and then wait even more than some more, and hope the other team get really, really bored, so bored they decide to start poking because the alternative is learning..all the words.... to their national anthem.

In a zerg rush you must keep your back to the wall while firing on the backs of the mechs as they come in..

You must want to win and not be bothered about playing an interesting game..

and the odds are still not great in a co-ordinated team..

In other words if your in pug play Don't DO IT mkay..

I had to like your post, but ummm yeah, with the exception of your advice on not to do it. The advice you gave regarding tactic's is spot on, and that is how it is done. When you set up right, in the corners, 4 mech's covering each entry, and you have seismic to give locations away of the enemy team, and you stand completely still so you don't give away your teams location(torso twist is ok, just don't move your leg's) this works flawlessly and gives you one hell of a brawl. Or you can do the nascar, get snipped fest from the walls, lrmagidon, like almost every game mode is played, on every map, (because of "reasons" and people who know better how this game is to be played, everytime, every drop) I beg to differ. I was not born to be forced, I will breath air in my own fashion, let us see who is stronger. Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image
