Well I've never had this many crashes before after a patch. I have yet to be able to finish a match so far.

Agree, this is annoying. Currently on a 10 min time out for "leaving matches", new map crashes at least 60% of the time for me. Usually says D3D device hung error due to device instability or bad code. Every other game and program I have runs perfectly fine. Have tried all kinds of different video settings, don't know what else to do.

If the D3D device hung, have had two people who did a full reinstall of directx 9c with the redistribution package, not the small websetup one.

Also, if using Win10, may want to disable Driver updates. I and a few others also had issues with Windows installed GPU drivers.

I mostly crash when on desktop. Also I noticed this game battles Windows to set MWO as the active "window". Results in permanent screen flickering till it gets focus. Happens when you alt+tab when loading a map. It may be related to those crashes.

Also Im having FPS drops for no reason, seeing 30-40 FPS on a 1080Ti where in all other times I run the game with ~180.

Everything's working fine for me in game but the CPU drain after the patch has hit unplayble levels. Starts out fine and then gets slowly worse as I play, maybe a memory leak? Point is I'm crashing a lot now so I'm kinda getting a bit annoyed.

The very same thing here. It seems the PGI developers never tried to use Alt-Tab.

Playing in Full Screen or Full Windowed mode?

Windowed mode is easier to Alt Tab out of, because it's a normal window. When it's "real" fullscreen, all textures must be reloaded as well as a lot of the GPU state information, which is why most games crash when you do this enough.

Are you also running WIndows 10 and had the recent windows up update?

I tried to switch these modes. Not much difference (if any), in my case anyway.

PGI is worse then EA in my book. Each new patch causes D3D, and ontop of that the ******* AMD issue. I would play more, but to be honest, my trust in PGI doing good is very slim. Instead of shoving mechs, they should be focusing on the games health...then again that would make sense.

I am also having problems dropping into a game following this latest patch. I get "stuck" at about 15 seconds showing in the countdown timer. It happens about every third "drop" and is more than a little annoying. I have run the repair tool with no effect. Once it locks up I have to back out completely. I never can get back in once locked out. Adding insult to injury is the penalty for leaving the match early... I may have to quit until the next patch - which will hopefully be soon.

PGI is very unable to handle this game in technical point of view. Sad but truth. They are useless noobs.

My Win 10 updated to latest version. Now MWO refuses to run while other programs (including games) have no problems with running on updated system. I'm getting messages

I tried to find solution for this problem but nothing works. And you know what I shouldn't even do that. MWO is just total garbage of poorly maintainable code. This is the final nail into the coffin on top of the other numerous issues with this game like unreasoable frame-rate, lags, lame gameplay and features, connectivity issues and etc. I'm probably done with this game. It should work as other programms without different kind of mambo-jambo to make it run.

I've seen ****** coding and personal engines, but holy hell. With all the Mechs they shove into our faces, you would think thy would fix issues in order to supply a healthly shelf life. I feel like the duct tape isn't holding as well as they thought it would.

Luckly my crashing seemed to stop after the last Graphics card update I had, but still get the problem of locking up on a ryzen 7, RX 480 and 8 gigs of ram. Pretty sure my $1,300 PC should run this game.
