it doesnt prevent you from running 6 mediums and 2 large lasers, it just prevents you from firing them all at the same time.

At least combine heavy lasers with others. Regular lasers aren't as big a problem as heavy larges + ermed or gauss, etc.

Marader2c was made to be a weapons platform, so it can't take a lot of damage to one spot. It can spread damage well but if IS bring PPFLD like dual Hgauss you can't spread that..

The marauder IIC is easy to side torso, even over hills since it is pretty tall for its size (shoulders stick up). And once they're side torso'd they pilot like barges and are pretty easy to dispose of after that point

It's a powerful assault mostly because it has very little competition outside of the MK II and the clan tech base is much better than the IS tech base

As for Marauders being too difficult to deal with, just aim for the spot just above the shoulder. If they twist to cover that ST, thank them by shooting the other one. Now both of their side torsos are either soft or open. Works on both IS and Clan flavors of marauder.

As for the comment concerning how it is difficult to drive an IS mech when 3 or 4 marauders puke lasers at you, that's not entirely accurate. Both IS and Clan melt like a popsicle vs a blow torch when they encounter that, so calling out IS as inferior in that case is crap. It works on pretty much anything.

Its not THAT powerful, its just got an exceptional ranged profile when facing a single direction. If you get flanked, expect to loose a side torso in like under 5 seconds, if you get too close to the front same issue, but if you can keep it at ~500-600m few mechs can outtrade you.

MCII is in a similar spot, but its got better hitboxes for being flanked, worse from the front. If you can keep at mid range or farther, you shouldnt have too much trouble protecting yourself (unless u insist on using missiles in which case GL with those massive boxes). Otherwise, like any other assault, its a joke to focus down a single hitbox with 90% of your firepower...

that ghost heat cancer has to stop at some point. it has already ruined many ballistic boats and we dont want it to happen to the lasers.

Just reduce the damage on lasers and/or increase their heat and at some point people will start rolling out their brawler builds. However i believe we wont see it happening until Damage per heat is nerfed by at least 20%. Hitscan at huge distances is too good of a boon by default

The devs explicitly started nerfing damage per heat on lasers im glad about it. If we do the ghost heat BS then at some point we will just have to chainfire all of our weapons especially on assaults.

The 78 point alpha with lasers that pair with good synergy in the range/duration is the better build.

At max optimal LPL range, you can't even fire the MPL, whereas the ERML can be fired with HLL or LPL out to 800m.

That is why.
