In about a month and one half the effects of repealing the net neutrality act will begin to take place. I'm not sure how much my already overly priced internet will cost then. However, if the increase is more than I am willing to pay, I am afraid that my online gaming will have to go. I refuse to pay $200 a month for internet access. Soo.. How many others in video game land see a decline in future gaming hours when our rates begin to climb?

The primary reason the ISP's and cable carriers have been pushing for this is because they could see the direction the consumer wanted to move and they're doing everything they can to get in ahead of it make sure we HAVE to pay too much for their services.

Originally when the Cable companies lobbied and won deregulation from our government ONE of their promises was to have "universal set top boxes" that anyone could purchase and use with any cable carrier. Well, obviously, those ************* renegg'd on that. Also, ala carte channel packaging was supposed to be a thing, and guess what, those ************* renegg'd on that too!

Seeing that the consumer had figured out that direct streaming of desired content was cheaper, and getting easier, the cable/ISP companies started merging, including gobbling up content providers (the various networks) so that they could ensure that they get paid at EVERY point in the entertainment process.

They're getting paid for commercial time, product placement, merchandising, and now content delivery, and even going to be taking an extra cut of the fees associated with electronic payments.

We're royally ****** unless the senate/congress kill this, but they won't. Big business has bought and paid for the government.

Just look who lied and bought his way into the presidency...

I'm not even sure where to begin on this one. "Net Neutrality" wasn't a thing even for the short time it was alive. Prices for internet service haven't been skyrocketing in the years prior. Because like a MMO which capped at 15 a month, the limit people will pay was reached. This is simply a sky is falling do something disease panic attack and little more. Get people frothed up in a frenzy as what happens every time a "crisis" occurs. Anyone who believes there's going to be sudden cataclysmic changes needs to walk away from social media and maybe the internet for a spell. Go camping, get out of your house and do something that doesn't involve your computer, phone, or game machine. There was a world before the internet, there will be one after.

In Singapore,
21 usd = 500 mbps
29 usd = 1 gbps
95 usd = 5 gbps
140 usd = 10 gbps

:) :) :)

apparently contacting all those congress men/women did nothing
its more of a statement of how broken our government is
and they act in the interest of whomever has the most money

the phone companies are already doing some of the things

that is throttling you if you use to much of the band with that you pay for

T-Mobile was fined a few years ago for throttling people by the FCC
well they fixed that
bought off the government and put in one of there own to
head the FCC
