Making event challenges that "all you have to do is play"...
It should be a challenge, not a participation trophy.
PS I love free, crap, but make me earn it, its means nothing to get it by default.
I you're going to do that, just inject it directly.
Edit: wasn't directed to holidays
You want a challenge? Get 100 QP bags in a SDR 5V with 2 small lasers.
Get 100 FP bags with a minimum tonnage drop deck solo.
Accessibility high events > high skill requirement events
As a company, it would be best if they pissed off the least amount of people. There are very few high skill players compared to the amount of low skill players.
The worst thing they've done so far is Victory for Victors or whatever it was called. Get a kill, get an assist, get a win, stay alive. I have my Victor but a lot of people don't.
I'd rather everyone have a good time and get something than grind my *** off in difficult challenges that very few people accomplish.

my concern is that if they make it too easy it adversely affects the quality of the game
like 150 match score for quickplay... people just run at an enemy, hold down fire, kill them and die themselves, then quit and repeat in a different mech. I saw it happen last event.
I think you're seeing a problem that isn't their because of your own bias against how easy the event is. 90% of the games I played in the last 5 years have had one or two people who run head first into the enemy, die, and disconnect. Even if events magnified this the bottom line is that people are going to do this either way.
I'd love for you to prove that 150 is adversely affecting solo queue and I'd love to see analysis that shows that upping it up 50 points would have great gains in participation.
