I am still wondering why there aren't any negative effects with selecting skillpoints.

For example the armor skill node. Strapping on more armor should slow down the mech.
Overclocking your heatsinks should result in a lower heatcap. More ammo per bin should either result in a higher yamming chance or easier ammo explosions...and so on.

I think that would bring an interesting balance to the game.
Unskilled mechs would have the "advantage" of haveing none of the negative effects while a modified mech (wouldn't call it skilled) might have an advantage in a certain area but a drawback in another.

This could turn the skillweb from an annoying clickfest into something where you have to carefully consider each spend point.
