Solaris will have as much impact on QP as FW does. Which is to say, almost none.

Try joining a big Merc unit. No need for Tier resets or alt accounts. Seal club until your heart is content.

Ez
This is purely a fan service for people to downrank to their appropriate difficulty level
Anyway I can tell a lot of you guys just prefer to let the potatoes to stay in T1 matches because if they ever get filtered out, you guys would have a harder competition with the remaining good players left in T1.
Its ok
PS: And all those saying its open to abuse, fine then let only those with a WLR or KDR <1 or even only the last 30% of the population to have the option to rank down
You guys lack imagination really

At higher tiers, you can really see how players achieved their level: lights that spend the match looking for backs to blow-out, ambush players who hide much of the match either looking to unleash an alpha on someone stumbling by or wait for the other players to do enough damage they can one-shot an already beat-up mech, and snipers. Yeah for personal achievement, but no real need for teamwork - play to score without necessarily helping the team or even attempting to participate in a mode objective.
So a call for tier re-set may just be acknowledging that game play gets more generic and uninteresting at higher levels.

I'd put up a poll if we get enough support here
PS: After reading through the replies, pretty sure that those who don't like this idea are mainly those who prefer the soft competition with the potatoes in T1 matches. Shame though.
You do realize just about every ***** in T1 would do this and then go seal clubbing innocents? It's the definition of "pay to win" and also would completely screw up matchmaking..
So..
How about a big.. fat.. NO!

Like I said, its easier to just get an alt account and max out 1 mech with the cadet bonus to seal club. There is literally no incentive for a real T1 to go down to T5.
PS: Its gonna be hilarious in Feb when the MCII releases for cbills

Nah, you have do to matches to earn the cadet bonus, then you have to do matches to earn the XP to level your new Mech. Your proposal is the deluxe package for every wannabe seal clubber. Use all of your fully leveled Mechs from match one on to club seals.

however pay for increased tier weighting for the next 25 games (like you get for the first 25) I would not be opposed to, of course to prevent it being manipulated by the seal clubbers it would have to come with some sort of penalty, e.g. if you then get a streak of 800+ damage 5+ kill games you very rapidly find yourself back in tier 1, or can only be acheved if it is clear you are not good enough for your current tier (e.g. have to have had mostly realy bad games for the last 50 matches)
