Smurfy's is probably the best site for mech variants and trying to fit possible builds before you buy:

Smurfy has all the technical variants, but not the Collector-Variants... But thanks for the suggestion

There's no difference between them so there isn't a reason to list them.

The distinction is only to show that it has a different than normal default skin, whether it has a bonus for cbill or XP earnings, and finally "what" it came from. There's no actual game functionality difference or in universe difference, quirk difference or anything else.

The game itself doesn't even count them as separate entities beyond the above.

Is there a reason you want the collector distinctions listed?

There is. I collect mechs I like. I have fun leveling up a mecht that I have in an identical variantion of. Since I don't care for aquiring ever more mechs, I buy variants of chassis that I love and skill them up.
I know... not very clever or economical... but its my end-game-content...

I could understand that.
Okay.

A list of what you'll never get, first.
[F] Founder's mechs: Jenner JR7-D. (Unique trait, upper saucer). HBK-4G (visual representation of communications equipment -- seriously they couldn't have done better? HBKs are known for very rounded arms and legs; couldn't have done that over the blocky things we got?). Catapult CPT-C1. (Unique trait: Nose cone.) Atlas AS7-D (Unique trait: Angry cyclops head with fancy stuff in right eye.)
[P]hoenix. Primary variant of each of the following: Locust (extra long arm shields, collision bars around cockpit), Shadow Hawk (collision bars on shoulders and cockpit). Wolverine (shoulder armor). Griffin (shoulder armor.) Thunderbolt (shoulder armor.) Battlemaster (more canonical shoulder armor.)

[L]oyalty. Awarded annually now for different purchase requirements such as buy any amount of MC, buy a mech pack for X side, buy 2 collectors, 6 heroes or do Y, etc.
Worth noting: Loyalty variants are typically unique, unreleased variants for approximately 4 to 6 months during which they cannot be bought by any means. (The exception being the Centurion CN9-AH, which wasn't unreleased but removed during closed beta due to its strong similarity to the first hero mech, the Yen Lo Wang. Each actually had very polarizing differences but at the time missiles were far superior to lasers so PGI just up and removed it instead...waiting something like 3 ears before putting it back in as a Loyalty variant; whats more is they gave it an extra hardpoint beyond what it originally was given in closed beta, possibly as a consolation prize to us CN9-AH lovers that cried for its return.).
First set: Unique geometry.
Centurion AH (SHIELD!), Atlas S (Terminator skull), King Crab (????). Each had an Angel of Viking mythos.

Note: All sets after the first have no unique geometrical features.
Second set:
Cicada. Wolverine. Zeus. ? ? ? ? ? Paintjobs themed around snake scales.
Third set
. Stalker 3f2. twin Summoners. Hellbringer (I think). I know I own the whole set but god if I can remember them all; horrifyingly ugly "thermal" patterns that scream "SHOOT ME GODDAMN IT I WANT TO DIE"
Fourth set.
Blackjack BJ-2. Victor. Linebacker. Nova. Urbanmech???

Some confusion on what came with the third or fourth set.

Welcome people to fill the blanks.

[G]old. Don't ask. 500 dollar mechs with a simple gold pattern....No. Seriously. That's it.

Others:
[I]Invasions.
"Prime" variant of each (usually sleeker elements. In some cases like the Ebon Jaguar, nose cone).
[R]esistance 1 and 2. Half and a third paintschemes. Supposed to be a geometrical difference but can't tell what it is for many of them. The Black Knight has different shoulder pads.
[o] Origin. Minor differences.
[S]team or Specia / COLLECTOR versions. No geometrical differences (except on Urbanmech which is a far sleeker more attractive model), only a different pattern. Special are based on the main variant of whatever mech. Steam is unique in that they target non-primary variants, such as the HBK 4P instead of the 4G. Specifically Steam targets Champion variants and gives them a 30% cbill bonus instead of a 30% XP/GXP bonus. These often have Champion builds, too and gives them an existing paint pattern as default AND unlocks that pattern for all variants of those specific mechs corresponding to those that come with that specific Steam set.

A gold mech at play.
Posted Image

Invasion Timber Wolf (default pattern; Zhizhu colors.)
Posted Image

Two Timber Wolves. Yes I know they have different loadouts, but both have the same pattern on. Note one still has black despite the all white paint?
Posted Image
That's the "unique geometry" on the Timber Wolf.

Atlas S[Loyalty], default pattern, Zhizhu colors.
Posted Image

Founder's Catapult; default pattern, default colors, "grunge" version (before they redid them to the "spiffy new" look that came with the cosmetic paint and pattern stuff later on.) Note: That's actual in game damage, back when that looked beautiful too.

A good Fred for a question to the com:
Had a fight in my Quickdraw 4h vs an Atlas as i heard MG sound and saw somebody is nailing my back Armor.
As i fired my Jumpojets to turn fast 180 around, i was looking on a li Urban mech with an Awesome camo.(Sorry for the 54 Alpha in your Face.. Better you then me )Posted Image
Was a camo with some kind of Comic face ( No Decal, was a Camo )
. Never again saw that Urbie with the same camo.. didnt find the camo under the unlockable Camos either it isn´t the Collector pack Urbie or the K9 also no Decal face.
Checked that all. Also started a google search ( i hate that broken Forum Search funktion, will they ever be fixed? )

Someonne an idea what camo or special urbie that was? need that lil Urbie or camo for my loyalty Urbie unfortunately had no time for a screenshot

This face?

This is the ONLY camo that exists that has a face that isn't on an Angel, short of the Jester Catapult Hero.

Pseudo faces include Pretty Baby's Demon, Firebrand's demon, and the skeleton skulls from that pattern that starts with a P.

But that's it. Anything else is done by Decals.

Could be decals NOT available to you, but they are done by decals nonetheless.

Right there.

Also apparently its 30% off.

The collector's version has the teeth and such; I dunno where that concept image came from but it looks nothing like that. In fact the standard looks very different too.
