I have recently upgraded my computer and graphics card and am no longer able to play MWO with the fps dropping to 1-4 after logging in despite attempting to lower settings to the bare minimum. Also, an alert stating that the GPU is unsupported appears everytime MWO starts up. The fps is fine on the log in page but never goes above 4 after logging in. Task Manager showed that MWO is using up 99% of the CPU.

CPU: i5 8400
Mobo: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E Gaming
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
PSU: Thermaltake SMART SE 530W Bronze PSU

Any help is highly appreciated.

Uninstall and reinstall GPU drivers.

System/Settings, Power Options, set to High Performance. Will throttle down only if heat related.

Nvidia UI, 3D, Power Management Mode, change from Adaptive to Max Performance. This ensures that your Nvidia card is being utilized and not the CPU built-in Intel.

Also try and delete the shader cache usually found in:

YOur wINDOWS dRIVE:\Users\yOUR uSERNAME\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Shaders\Cache

When you restart the game the game will rebuild the cache to better suit your hardware.

Thanks. I managed to solve the problem. Turned out that I was an idiot and plugged my monitor into my mobo instead of the gpu so the gpu was never used.
