Unable To Join A Unit

Why am I getting this error when I'm loyal to IS and the unit inviting me is IS?

Do I have to be loyal to the same house?

Do I have to have some minimum standing with my current house?

Is this just a bug?

I haven't been able to find any references to this problem on the forums or subreddit, so if there's something obvious I'm missing, please let me know.

Because you are loyalist to FRR and the unit you are trying to join is either MERC or Loyalist to another faction.

Break loyalty, wait 7 days, then it will work.
