I can say the exact same thing to those blasted 3 ERLL cicada pilots that go into a game and annoy people, cost the IS side an automatic loss since they lack DPS and 3 brawlers are down 1 man which makes it hard to do anything vs 4 clanners, and then ofc the cicada decides to run and hide doing occasional damage, maybee 1-2 kills but not exactly winning.

No, I mean they literally don't even try to kill anyone until the 13 minute mark, at earliest. Even if you try to throw, or suicide yourself, they'll leg you and then run away.

They'll sometimes even advertise what they're doing before the match starts. This isn't a group playing the long game, they're literally dragging the matches out for the sole purpose of dragging the match out.

Nothing wrong with group playing range (ive done it and been a part of it and ive even won 1v4 games by using a SHC with 2ERLL/HLL+6LMGs), but its really not fun when there is 1 guy left that needlessly drags the game out with no chance of actually winning it (i myself will drag a game if i feel its actually possible to beat the enemy, otherwise ill override and die gloriously). Yeah, range is fine, 1 guy doing it with no group tactic just to drag a game and be annoying aint my idea of fun.

Anyways, forcing stock builds only goes to limit ones viable mechs from 20+ chassises to like a handful, although the situation isnt THAT bad if you are willing to brach away from meta and look at builds that will be able to actually do something more then cook themselves or instantly die the second they are spotted due to excessive armor stripping. Here is a comprehensive list of mechs and variants that i looked at and said "i could honestly bring this is into a game and get some damage done". Obviously discounting (C) versions and all hero mechs since a good amount of them are solid.

If I had to take only stock 'mechs, also removing any PGI originals (please tell me if I left one in), this is what I would have to choose from;

IS
Light
JVN-11A
OSR-4D
WLF-2

Medium
BJ-3
CRB-27B, CRB-27SL
HBK-4SP
UZL-6P

Heavy
QKD-5K
GHR-5N, GHR-5P
WHM-6D
BL-6B-KNT
MAD-5M
TNS-4P

Assault
AWS-8Q
BLR-1D, BLR-1G, BLR-3M
NSR-9FC, NSR-9J, NSR-9S
ANH-1X

Clan
Light
MLX-G
ACH-C, ACH-E
ADR-Prime
COU-C, COU-E, COU-Prime

Medium
VPR-A
IFR-D
SHC-Prime
NVA-A, NVA-Prime, NVA-S
SCR-B, SCR-C, SCR-Prime

Heavy
MDD-A, MDD-C
LBK-B
NCT-A, NCT-B, NCT-C, NCT-D, NCT-Prime
SMN-M, SMN-Prime
NTG-C, NTG-Prime
TBR-A, TBR-D

Assault
GAR-C
WHK-C, WHK-Prime
MCII-1, MCII-4
SNV-1
KDK-3, KDK-5

[Edit]
If I had to pick one of each weight class, per faction...
OSR-4D, CRB-27SL, GHR-5P, NSR-9FC
ACH-E, NVA-S, NCT-C, MCII-1
[/Edit]

I agree that the major factors that hamstring stock IS 'mechs are SHS & engine type - to many STDs on Lights & fast Mediums, too many XLs on Assaults & slow Heavies. The mixture of weapon types, lack of ammo and shaving of armour is a problem for both factions.

I don't seem to be conveying my point properly. There's a group of people who, from grouping up and mechlabing, are intentionally dragging matches out.

Not one person.

Not because its all they have left.

Not because its a good way to win.

4 people dragging matches out to the maximum length for the sole purpose of dragging the match out.

EDIT: Oh god, you're one of them, aren't you.

I NEVER intentionally drag games out unless i have a clear plan of winning and i believe i can execute it. Best example i can give which ive done multiple times is say my shadowcat or ice fridge, with 3-4 enemies left that are ALL brawlers and have no range weapons left. I will basically kite them as long as i can (if map allows this such a polar, grim, ect) and fire at them trying to get some kills and win as they chase me. Ofc if its a city map, im super hurt, or whatever, im just gonna go out honorably and charge into my doom, but if there is a good chance i can beat the enemy even if it may look hopeless to others, i will still attempt to do so.

There is one unit that does these all the time. Its actually super effective if kind of sh*tty. As soon as they come into contact they will literally turn from the IS team, leave any teammates they have behind and bolt for the most wide open area of the map. They will sit there for the whole match if they have to waiting for IS to get into the open and then do the kiting/legging thing. Basically the IS brawling mediums have no chance against this if you dont want your scouting match to last full time

They must be terrific.

I mean lets ask Vxheous if it is in fact his guys doing this, because they would pretty much be the only ones I can think of that would make it hard to not simply group up and push them in, one by one.

Oh wait, those EmP guys don't troll the community, so it must someone else.

It would just be a less balances, more meta restricted version of what we already have.

Let's not forget stupid.

It would be incredibly stupid to introduce at this point.
