With most brawling mediums and heavies being built around brute forcing their way through a fight, I thought I would take the time to explain how to use a finesse brawler, instead. My mech of choice? The Shadow Cat. IS equivalents of this would be the Assassin and potentially the newly released Hellspawn, and other Clan equivalents would be the Arctic Wolf and potentially the Ice Ferret.
Mechs like this are not entry level brawling platforms, given you need to toe a tight line between "acceptable risk" and "being killed" constantly. That said, they provide an incredibly fun gameplay experience. They require you utilize your mobility advantages, your brain to leverage that mobility in unexpected ways, and constant situational awareness. This is all in addition to the normal heat concerns that brawling creates.

Good video!
Hit and run is a necessity for light to medium brawler to learn, especially for IS XL mechs.

Good tips, Shadow Cat's one of my favorites, it makes me sad when I see people trying to brawl in them like they were an assault and just getting their cockpit punched in with full burns.

So, not so much brawling as skirmishing or harassing.

You don't leave the fight, you just need to constantly re-position in ways that put the enemy off balance. Further, when you fully commit to the push, you move in ways that make it significantly harder to deal with in ways standard brawlers simply cannot.

I think a lot of folks underestimate mobility in a good knifefight. Well done.
