Escort mode is not commonly picked because it takes more time and doesn't give bonus cbills like conquest.

I recommend the following:
Bonus cbills for escort mission defenders based on how far you got the vip mech.

Bonus cbills for the attackers based on how much damage was done to the vip mech and waypoint flags turned.
