I am really excited for the coming of Fafnir.

Though... looking round the forum I see negativity...

I myself am more realistic and have to admit there is some worry with the Fafnir... Though I still pre ordered it... pre ordered the whole pack!

So hitbox wise its probably going to suck a bit... though I've got an annihilator and a King crab so I'm used to using awkward shaped mechs... LRMs will probably kill it fast and the fact it will most likely carry HGR means most people will focus fire on it... Though most models have ECM.

And Fafnir will probably be awkward to use due to how wide it is... but BUT! the main ballistic hardpoints are in line with the cockpit! I can't help but imagine it will work a lil like a "ballistic battlemaster"

And hey center torso ECM and AND head lazer hard point. So even if you lose both side torso's you can be an asset to your team.
Which is something that happens to me a lot... losing both sides of my mech before I die or ending a match still alive with just center torso and legs intact.
But that is just the 5, 5B and the WR...

I am not sure what I'll be doing with the other 3... Could make a monstrous MRM spitter out of the 5E...

Anyway... Still very excited! This is the first... and only... mech I will be pre ordering.
Once April 17th hits I am going to be so happy testing out each of the models of Fafnir.
Going to first try jiggle around the parts on each of them to try fit in a size 325 engine. Just need to shave off 5.5 tons off their equipment.

For me it's more nostalgia than anything, that and it being a fun not-really-meta mech.

FNR-5 would be my go-to as x2 Heavy Gauss or even UAC5/10.
5B: x2 LB20-X AC and 5 MPL
6U: idk maybe x2 regular AC20s and HPPC.
5E: Fat IS poor man's Scorch? What's great is that the LB20s are in the torsos, but having missiles in either arms kinda sucks for spread. Not to mention IS equipment weighs more.
6R: what do i even do with this? You know what, x2 AC20s and 2 Snubs.
WR: No idea right off the bat, but hey it's a watered down version of Peter's Fafnir so i'll take it for historical value.
