Personally I think it would be very nice as a future perk for founders, since founder packages are a 1 time deal anyways. If, and when, Clans are implemented, it would be nice if founders had early access to that content.

Erm no, what about the players who sign up after the Founders period?

I'd rather see the first batch of players get in if they pass both a knowledge and skill test.
After that we can start opening the Clans to the general public.

Ohh...(tenting my fingertips) that would be soooo trolling! Where is my MadCatz? No can drive, kiddo...but you can have a taste!

For the sake of the game, I have to say no.

Agreed, it has to be whats best for the game as a whole , not the individual within reason, for the sake of MWO's future i say no

I see no real issues with Clans in MWO so long as they conform to the canon and do a batchall and there being a minimium cutdown. The clan mechs are superior to inner sphere but to counter this clanners would be out numbered due to the batchall bidding.

Clan tech in MWO won't be a bad thing - even the clans in and of themselves wouldn't be a bad idea. People forget that the Clans fight amongst themselves just as much as they fought the IS so there's that. Along with that to balance out the Clan tech if necessary there's always a release of ComStar/ComGuard tech??!?

First clanners should be NPCs and devs just dropping into an already ongoing battle and destroying people. only after quite a few months should players be allowed to join the clans.

Another option is to launch mwoclans.com and make it clan vs clan only, then only players who pass some kind of trials or reach a certain level can play against the other faction (clan/IS). Important aspect is allow everyone to setup an account in each site/server, so one day I can choose to play with my IS account, the next day with the clan.

Giving only the founders clan tech is a step towards pay to win, I'm not fond of this idea.

I'd sure like to beta test them and even upgrade my Legendary to a Kerensky package (5 Clan Mechs instead of 4 IS Mechs).

I like the Clans. 'Twas in 1992 when I first came to Battletech. Liked the history and fluff of the Clans. I see myself as a clanner. However I hope they never become playable in MWO. I hope Clan weaponry/equipment is never purchaseable with real money. 5x cost of usual black market items(from TTBT) in cbills, sure.

Those are my feelings on the whole Clan issue.

when I first read this thread title on the main board, I thought it was about something completely different to the OP:

When I scanned through it on the main board, I thought, the title

"Founders as future Clan invaders"

was a perk for legendary, and founding member's names would be Clan AI, and story fiction, following along the lines of getting their name in the credits type thing

I don't know about giving founders Clan tech, just because we payed money. That does kinda feel "Pay to Win" Now, If they gave us some kinda beta to try them out before everyone that would be kinda cool.

But, I feel if they did bring the clans it, it should be for everyone, not just founders.
