Will there ever be an update to DirectX 12. It would be wonderful for in game performance!!!! Not just for gamers that have lower end computer but even high end computers will benefit. But the question is are you ever going to do it?? I would love the game to advance to the next level of smoothness.

I really hope not... Vulkan is far superior, and cheaper. Besides, it would be standard if they went to a modern version of the UE4 engine. (in addition to fairly simple porting to Linux and MacOS)

If you guys did your homework not every computer is able to have Vulkan... But every computer uses DirectX. It makes no sense why mechwarrior as popular as it is a world wide multiplayer, to upgrade. I just need to know how much is needed to be raised to do so. I am 100% positive that we should use DirectX 12. It cuts windows out of the graphics processing and allow direct hardware utilization with the game, instead of letting windows utilize and control the graphics process.

Vulkan is built into all modern GPU drivers for GPUs that can run this game.

Only if they're using Windows, and DX12 is ONLY for Windows 10, which is crap. (I'm on 7, and won't ever use 10 unless they allow me to completely disable the "telemetry", which you can't ever do on ANY version of 10)

Both Vulkan and DX12 do the same thing, except that Vulkan costs nothing to implement, and is natively cross-platform (even back to Win 7, and even earlier OSes) with no additional software requirements.

Hopefully MW:O will get ported to UE at some point at the future.
OpenGL/Vulkan rendering, native Linux support, easier to work with assets, better optimisation, physically based shading... *drool*
