Baradul suggested this in his recent video but it got me thinking about the possible benefits of such a system.

A lot of other games have daily events, especially f2p ones. What if they added daily events that were different for each player with c-bill or very small amounts of MC as rewards. With perhaps a weekly reward for completing a certain number of daily objectives during the week.

I imagine it would:

1. Encourage people to play more often leading to more people online.

2. Increase build diversity in matches since the objectives for every player is different.

3. Help new player retention since they would have more opportunities to gather c-bills, be less put off by big events that they don't have the equipment for, help them feel like they're making steady progress.

4. Give more reason for people to play who already have all the mechs and equipment they want but not necessarily have all the cosmetic things they want.

5. ...and more!

I at least would play more often if daily rewards were in place. Sorry if this has been suggested before but I can't get the post search thing to work.

Initially I disagreed with you on this, but, after thinking about this a little bit, I see where you're going on the idea and now agree, it'd probably be a good thing, especially new players, and maybe even for play diversity.

But that sort of thing would have to be 'dynamic' with algorithms capable of factoring the player's available 'mech pool and weapon inventory. So, something like this would DEFINITELY require a lot of development effort, and testing, to ensure there's no way to 'game' the system.

But yeah, good idea.

Molten Metal has been pushing this for a while now.

Their whole interface for events is pretty wonky. If nothing else they should recreate the game in Unreal 4 just get away from the horror that is their UI.

Bad, or maybe... 'incomplete', UI design isn't engine related.

I can get behind this idea. Nice. I am leaning more towards the C-Bill award, and maybe a special "Title" award as well over MC.

The principle is fine, but when P.G.I put on events, people expect to be able to complete them, or they get salty.

Isn't there a chance this will happen to dailies ?

I favored having a lot of events and after a couple of months of them, no....... Events need to be something special. Something challenging to work towards and have good rewards that are on a graduated scale.... IOWs, somthing for every level of skill.

Other than that: No. Either this game can or can not survive on it's own......and, so far, I just can't see it growing in my lifetime.....
Solaris will run off what's left me thinks.

This would be great for new players and those that play on a regular basis already.

However, whales that have literally everything they want and billions of C-Bills will just shrug it off and do what they normally do.

I never understood why PGI didn't copy the Hearthstone/Heroes of the Storm system. Every player gets his own "quests" so that not everyone is doing the same.

The current methodology of testing is ok, and I say we should have the 'general event' based off of whatever activity PGI wants to promote (be it the count down to a new 'mech release, or the need to get hard data on in game performance of specific weapons systems) and the 'personal event' (dynamically based on each player's inventory).

I don't believe this is a "one or the other" scenario.

Just make those special events special i.e. same as before Baradu good idea, as for salty people well salt will always be salty nothing we can do about that.

Bonus, special loot box (no key required) for first win/match of the day (days reset at 00:00 GMT, for example)

Bonuses get gradually better up over 5/7/10/20/30/howevermany days

May or may not reset after the full cycle

May or may not require consecutive login days

May work like a calendar, so more logins means more and/or better rewards

Events. No.
Rewards/Achievements. Sure.

Edit: Should just clarify that the events tend to be 'special' things that occur around mech releases and so on.

But for something daily, I would think the Rewards and Achievements would work nicely.

Just give everyone 5 MC for the first win of the day, on top of the XP bonus.

I enjoy smaller events however, I as a casual player will not have time to complete all events. Stepped rewards based on tiers of completion paying progressively better sounds reasonable.

Dailies in many games are doing a great job at getting the players to log in more and play more.

I rarely touch Guildwars 2 anymore but I still log in to get my daily.
I do the quests in Heroes of the Storm from time to time. They also gave me a mount and a bunch of loot boxes from which I got great skins. A while back they gave away a huge amount of characters in a one time free pack.

2x XP on a mech you've already long mastered is not enough to make anyone log in daily.

How about a daily event?

every single day, a player must:
Achieve a 150 match score in a light
Achieve a 150 match score in a medium
Achieve a 150 match score in a heavy
Achieve a 150 match score in a assault

Any map or mode.
Reward: 2mc

((Or any of the other good ideas in this thread.))

as a former world of warcraft player i support this idea.

back in wotlk even the ppl that had all the gold they needed and didnt do daily quest they logged in for the 2 dungeon dailies.
it created an incentive to run instances.
