I can't help it, I have to add my new discovered baes:

Its really bizarre that there is little if no talk about the supernova.
It is WAYYYYYYY tankier than my MKIIs and stays in the fight forever.

Its a tank regardless, even with stock armor it takes punishment like a boss. Now i stack armor on top so it lets me get even more aggressive.

I think I'm going to buy the Boiler with cash.

EDIT: hmmm It appears I don't win so much in my SVN-1...I shall have to fix that.

I'm curious to see what it'll do when i get up to 100 games in each.

Supernova was the 'Mech nobody asked for, nobody cared about, and nobody thought would be anything spectacular.

And here it is, being T1.

I mean its impressively solid, low mounts and all.
Maybe its just me though since I do well with low mounts.

I admit I didn't even look at it till i watch Proton play it...then i was like hmmmmm.

I like it a lot. I might even dump cash into getting a deck of them.

And I don't drive assaults...not my thing...this thing...yep...solid.

It shares a space with the MAD-IIC as the premiere Clan laser boat Assault. They were used extensively in MWOWC17 in both long- and medium-range capacities.

Don't forget it's also the Premier Clan LRM Assault Mech.

Man I see no reason to take LRMs on this thing considering the outright killing power of ATMs + its ability to face tank for extended amounts. What a waste of a mech lrms.

NOTE: Yes i know what you mean and what you're talking about

MCII-4 does it way better, with better backup weapons.

Uh... same hardpoint count, same quirks (None). Supernova has better hitboxes (No missile ears) and slightly better agility.

I suppose the Mad Cat Mk II has a higher engine cap, but I'm not sure that matter for this particular build.

High weapon hardpoints, 5 extra tons, better armor, better engine... The "ears" really aren't a major thing, especially if you put anything other than LRM20's in them. (and in practice, the SNV-A can't stand toe-to-toe with any MCII I've ever fielded)

A bit higher.

Same tonnage, same armor, I don't think I've seen an LRM build on the Supernova or Mad Cat Mk II that ever went over 325.

LRM15 ears aren't as big as LRM20 ears, but they still add a considerable amount to the ST hit boxes, really high up. I've busted quite a few tabs off of the can that is the Missile Mad Cat Mk II.

How often do you get into LRM brawls with Supernovas?

This cant be right, according to my stats my best mech is a Highlander IIC-C. However only 38 matches played with a 3.47 K/D ratio. I just find that hard to accept, cant remember when I last used it I hardly even play big mechs.

For a better picture of me as a player - Pirates bane - 337 games played with a 1.35 K/D ratio. Thats more like it Posted Image

At most, 1m lower than cockpit, most are higher. That is very significant, especially when hill-humping. (which is about 30-40% of the game)

Same tonnage and armor, yes. For some reason my mechlab was showing the SNV to be an 85 with 85's armor. (weird, I know) I don't actually own one, so I don't have much about them memorized. I had been saving up to get one, when the MCII pack was announced, and I went for that instead. (and it turned out to be an excellent choice, as it has several of the best performing mechs in the game)

As far as LRM builds on the MCII, I've never put less than the stock xl360, but I can still fit 70 tubes with over 1800 missiles, conservatively. (with skill nodes, I never go less than 2100) Also fits a quad of ERML in the MCII-4.

Then you were going against potatoes... I've never lost a ST for anything less than full exposure, or twisting for damage. (that's across all MCII variants)

Not often, but around 1 in every 20 matches I'll run across one... I'm almost always fairly heavily damaged at that point, and they're almost always at full armor, but I've never lost in one of those situations.

I think maybe you're the one fighting potatoes.

Ancedotal, even if true.

You're not convincing. Your argument basically boils down to 'But I do great in it' and you're finding out about the mech you're trying to disregard as we go.

Top performers I got - all of these have over 20hrs played

MAD-3R - This thing is a beast, so I am not surprised. Lots of good builds for it.
1.7 W/L
2.01 K/D

Darkdeath - An assassin with ECM? Yes pls. They never see it coming
1.77 W/L
1.8 K/D

Yen-Lo-Wang (409 matches played, holy hell) - Love the AC20. Hard to cary in a medium, but I pull my weight
1.34 W/L
1.72 K/D

Nope. Ears are the killer for it. You'll see yourself when you hit tier2.
Though MC-4 is good for boreal vault defence. Can fit a lot of ammo and two ERLLs.

Going by KDR and only including mechs in which I have >100 matches to avoid and statistical outliers my best mech list is as follows:

5.62 CICADA CDA-2B (261 games)
5.35 ARCTIC CHEETAH ACH-PRIME (434 games)
5.31 JAVELIN JVN-11A (120 games)
4.54 ARCTIC CHEETAH ACH-C (334 games)
4.36 VIPER VPR-C (111 games)
3.77 CICADA CDA-2A(C) (233 games)

So you can clearly see, my best mech type is fast mechs with lasers.

I've also got the outliers like this one with my top KDR

COMMANDO COM-3A
Matches 14
Wins 11
Losses 3
WLR 3.67
Kills 38
Deaths 5
KDR 7.60

Top 20. anything with less than 50 drops was removed.

Many of those mechs have since been nerfed so it wouldn't be current.

1. Orion IIC-C
2. Summoner-M
3. Shadowhawk-2D2
4. Kodiak-3
5. Jenner IIC

Top 5 mech picks for when solo que for farming cbills. anytime else I'm always playing random mechs because this game has gotten boring to me a bit and I'm just wanting to wait for Solaris.
