Fellow Mechwarriors and PGI,

THE TIME HAS COME....

For units to be able to distribute C-Bills among members like MC.

Some unit members are flat broke and others have billions. I understand that this means there is less grind for new players potentially but it would really help them play the mechs they and veterans want to play.

What are your thoughts on this?

Might as well. As long as it help with player retention.

This would totally break the grind yes and I would also totally welcome this change. It's a good thing for players.
However it would be a bad thing for the income to PGI because up to now broke players would only get fancy new mechs through buying MCs.
As you said somebody with billions could speed up the progress of new players considerably.

Actually with this change you could transfer CBills freely between anybody.
Just create a short term unit, exchange money through the coffers and dissolve the unit again (and maybe get back to your old one),

It'll never happen.

The Paulconomy ® is specifically designed to make us all suffer.

They think if they didn't force us to grind, then we wouldn't play.

I would love this, but it should not happen.I am the leader of a 38 person unit that only has 2 members left so we would probably get 50-100 million each

its not like coffers were ever used for anything, they were a placeholder for features that never came, and then got used as a recruitment tax. take em out, and give everyone mc for playing fp. any cbills that would remain should be distributed, of course base everyone cut on the unit's peak population, so that if a unit with a hundred players is down to a handful each player would get a 1/100th cut. call the rest derp tax.

I'd rather they implement features they promise. Like bounties from 2013 or in this case dropships for Faction Play. They even introduced a whole animation where you drop from one but never allowed units to buy them.

They mentioned this was a feature they were looking at.

That is probably too much to ask for, but things for the unit to spend it on in Faction Play should definitely happen.

I think it is pretty stupid that PGI doesn't allow this. The whole reason Units, Clans, Organizations, etc from any game exist is to pool resources to achieve something you can't do alone, otherwise why be in a unit?

As far as the Coffers, what the hell use are they if there is nothing to spend the C-bills on. If they don't allow you to distribute or spend the funds on something, then they are just a C-bill sink.

where was this said? I assumed it was just one of those "backburner" topics (i.e like 99% of the rest of the things they say)

As stated, won't ever happen.

Breaks the in-game economy (and grind).

From Paul's update thread:

https://mwomercs.com...ost__p__6205948

There is a few mentions of unit coffer uses proposed elsewhere in the thread, but the above is the latest word from Paul. In short, that funds transfer will be "highly unlikely".
