Ive been playing terribad builds since closed beta and not joined a group, I dont feel like this should be happening to me. I mean Jarls list just shows my drinking pattern, basically.

https://leaderboard....arch?u=ZacharyJ

But on the other hand, I was able to capture this gem, showing off the true pinnacle of PGI game mode design at work. (before you ask, no, of course he was never able to navigate around that building)

Except Jarl's list clearly shows that you have positive WLR at your current tier, which means you should move up. Wait is this humble brag thread? Posted Image

If I thought moving up was a positive and that I hard worked hard in any way shape or form, then yea, humble brag.

But instead I drink and play solo with VOIP off, with bad fun mechs, things shouldnt be going up.

But it is going up. You can't argue against overall 1.08 WLR. In fact, I bet your recent year's WLR is actually higher than your overall WLR.

It's a simultaneous humble brag about hitting T1 and complaint about terrain geometry, without actually introducing a specific conversation topic about either. If you walked into a bar and said "I'm about to buy a BMW and the US government doesn't work well" I think people would just stare at you for a minute and say "...and?"

Ive got a feeling you've not read most of the threads I post, which typically consist of aloof remarks about PGi's development of MWO and its individual idiosyncrasies as glacial and a garbage fire.

If you genuinely think being in T1 is a good thing or a true sign of skill then thats unfortunate.

Sorry next time Ill be sure to post about nerfing a weapon system I deem contrary to my play style or complain about balance so we can go on for ages about jack all.

Maybe we can get some random out of context anime gifs thrown in here for good measure to make you feel more comfortable

OK EL, explain me? Last I looked I was in the .7 area and still rising??? Me thinks the entire process is hosed to the point that unless you lose every game, say 50+ in a row, you go up. Remember that some QP matches you win by what I call "Potato's choice": that's where your team is all potatoes and the other team are worse and you win despite yourself....

it is too late to shout DONT.
You are already in Tier 1 games. But I do understand the feeling, when mine f2p alt will reach Tier 2 I will probably just stop playing this game.

I mean I'm slowly but surely on the grind up and my stats are noticeably worse than yours.

Try playing sober it might throw off your groove.

According to the Jarl's list, I should play more often... less than 5 matches a month is keeping me off his list...Posted Image

No bragging here, but much like the OP, I usually play while drinking, solo QP and rarely solo FP (during events), I change builds and switch mechs all the time, and despite having something like 4K of skill points I can use on whatever, I still level mechs from the start fairly often, so my stats on this account are awful. I forget if I went from Tier 3 to Tier 2 in Season 16 or 17, but my W/L has been <1 for months and I'm still going up too (slowly, but still going up). Tiers = XP bar.

You need to put something in the OP that requires a response from people. Let's say you sit down at your desk in school and your English teacher hands you a writing prompt. The prompt says this: "the sky is blue." What do you write? If the prompt said, "Tell me why the sky is blue, citing sources" then there is clearly something to write.

What your original post amounts to is the first example I gave. Your post does not contain an explicit or implicit request for discussion or comments. Most probably it is a complaint about the Tier system, but you devote about as many words to what appears to be a geometry complaint, but it's not clear to me what you are trying to say.

I mean I was an interpreter in the military for six years, have a degree in russian language studies, and am currently using my GI bill on and off again to take linguistic courses as well as French and German out of USC, when time permits. Im reasonably confident that if I wanted to make you, Water Bear, feel warm and fuzzy with a nice and well planned out post I could do it, but thats not how we do things here at MWO.

Everything, I mean everything, has to be a minimally viable product.

And as if to make my point for me, the last match with a dual Ac/10 Storm Crow pushed me over the edge.

you've been matched with t1 t3 and t4 for years. Moving to t1 will not in anyways affect your performance.

The point is that you literally can't play badly enough to not be better than the majority of players in MWO.

You have now hit on the crux of why you absolutely can not in any way balance the games design around what the 'average player' wants. They are so bad that most people would have to put more work into being worse than them then it takes to just win more than you lose.
