Ghost Heat Removal?

What happened about the ghost heat removal and the Gauss mechanic changed? I just watched a youtube vid from 2016 and he comments about these upcoming changes.. (which would have been awesome by the way)
And well here we are in 2018 and still got these horrible mechanics ruining the game today..

Here is the vid where he comments on both.



Kinda odd that these huge changes never arrived...

With the current state of gameplay, removing Ghost Heat and not making any other changes to the weaponry would result in absolutely absurd levels of damage...well, even more absurd than we already have. Even the current Deathstrike with 2 Gauss + 2 HLL + 4 ERML would look modest in comparison to the crap that would be suddenly enabled.

The only time that was talked about was with the Energy Draw PTS. The remove the gauss for PTS 1 and up the cool down, it was till too powerful so they put the gauss charge back on for PTS 2. Energy draw never made it past the drawing board because in the end it did add anything of value to the game.

Seriously so all that was for naught and we still have these garbage mechanics cluttering up the game.. what a shame oh well.

They weren't removing ghostheat, they were making ghostheat 2.0 in the form of energy draw. Basically even more arbitrary limiting of things and blankets.

Arbitrary definitions of arbitrary are arbitrarily being used in the above quote.

In ED, weapons would have ED values based on their damage, or barring that, modified by their effectiveness. It's the opposite of arbitrary.

Technically not making it past the drawing board implies that it was an untested concept. They did test it. So it at least made it off the drawing board. But PGI couldn't stick the landing with it's implementation. Though at least some people found it be fun.

Some of them arrived on PTS and just didn't work. It's been abandoned.
