Are you bringing them in Atlases? Because that's what's happening today. Apparently the perfect counter to the Piranha is a SSRM18/HGR Atlas.

Nope! But I think I see the logic behind it.

It's like attracting moths to their fiery deaths. Posted Image

It's a bit smaller than a commando, but its walking animation, boxy torso and speed make it easier to hit.

Unrelated, I find it amusing that, despite everyone's worst fears, its not Piranhas that are making (the game) unplayable. Its the unfettered potatoness of everyone scared of them that is. Seriously guys, stop bringing streaks. Stop running away. Stop dragging your heels and refusing to advance because you're afraid one might sneak up behind you. They aren't scary, but the way you're playing is.

im guessing its another clan "floating" light mech? that's disappointing considering its slightly smaller than the commando and dosnt "bounce" while its running.

Something that has always irked me is how so many people on this forum come out of the woodwork to brag about how easy it is to kill light mechs and how much intoxicating near-orgasmic wave of pleasure they feel when they kill one of them in a single shot in a video game that's normally known for being a protracted battle of attrition with its TTK.

Especially when some of those same people are the ones who say that light mechs are underpowered as a whole, then they turn around and enjoy getting extremely low-effort kills and gloating about it.

I'm just having a chuckle at how not scary this boogy man apparently is. People were trumpeting about how terrifying this thing was going to be, but it's failed to meet that expectation.

...And I'm having a big pile of salt over how scared people in game still are of it.

Pirahna probably the first mech where I really need those nodes for fall damage.

Another problem with streaks is that once they fished all the Piranhas and other bycatch those streakboats struggle against and get eaten by bigger mechs who stick to their direct-fire weapons. Posted Image

One thing piranha has demonstrated is that streak boats are really bad, and heavy gauss rifle is really damn fun.

I feel like dual gauss is more effective than streaks.

The problem is that Gauss requires effort.

Frankly, I don't care!

My "mission profile" for the next few days is to go fishing. Posted Image

having looked at their weapon hard points and the size comparison chart I was like oh **** its the PirahnapocolypsPosted Image. then I get in a match and BLAM I hit one square in the flank with 2 SRM 6s (and some likely splash from my 4 ML) in my BSW-P2 and it just sort of disintegrates. about 10 seconds later BLAM down goes another one. I couldn't help but break down laughing hysterically because I was so worried about them only to blow through two of them so quickly. (on a side note I am far from claiming any kind of great skill, i'm usually middle of the road in QP a bit bellow that in FW, T4 newbie Pug here)

i'm sure after a week or so of people playing them and getting the feel for how the operate (not to mention getting them skilled up) it will get much harder and they will become more of a threat but that just had me laughing so hard at my own worries that I could barely breath. yeah one gets behind you in a mech with lower maneuverability and you are not going to be having a good day. they are a pain to hit at longer ranges though because they are so small.

The most memorable match of the night for me was charging down 1 fish and their was actually 4 of them. The battle raged on 4 vs 1 for a good while. Eventually the hunter became the hunted and they got me.

I'm so glad you finished your story like that, for a moment I was dreading that you were going to whip out a massive epeen and wave it around.

The swishy fishy do not like the 8MPL Ebon Jag

Had 3 of them charge me. Killed one in an alpha to his back as he ran past then went to 4 and 4 fire to manage the heat. Took a leg( or is it a fin?) and the 3rd ran away only to take a salvo of srm's from a teammate
