Energy piranhas are pretty... meh...

But that one with 12 ballistics. That one. That one is a friggin' monster. If the enemy 'mech I come upon is not being backed up by a bunch of friendlies, is not another light, and does not have streaks, then God help them. All those MGs just delete components. It runs out of ammo, true, but not before I've thoroughly chowed down on about 4 enemy 'mechs. Anyone else having such positive experiences with their LMG Piranhas?

I've been watching a pack of them go at it towards the end of a match before.

a interesting sight to see mechs get mowed down rather quickly and abrupt when focused.

They look like a lot of fun, despite a few threads bashing them. Glad to see someone upping them, I can't wait for them to be out for cbills.

My Cicada had a run-in with a Pirhana packing what I think was a large number of ER Smalls on Rubelite Oasis. It stripped my CT with one shot. I managed to leg it while it was shut down. When it powered back on from overheating, BOOM. Engine destroyed.

2 salvoes one kill, well aimed. Against a heavier mech, it would have failed.

The biggest complaint, and rightly so IMHO, is the visibility. The cockpit view is like looking out of a cardboard tube for all the view you have. It's fun, but I'm gonna wait till things die down around the chassis (driving or hunting) to get a better sense of how it will perform in a more stable environment. It seems like it'll be a heck of an addition in the right hands, ballistic or energy based.

It is deadly in the right hands. Unfortunately (or fortunately, if some wish), those are few and far between.

Hello there.

I own PIR 1,2,3,S and CL. And I have to agree that those pure energy based ones are pretty hard to manage for myself. Im used to pilotting stuff that goes maxed 91 kph and this Piranha gives me alot of issues =) So but MG variants are hilariously fun and can be deadly after this early Streak fishing dies away. I have had most fun with CL since its "proper" MG/laser mix and I have used alot different type setups with it.

I had most fun and success with 6MG's and Flamers =D it sounds pretty hilarious but after initial bang it does its job and you can pretty much single handedly shutdown and strip down pretty much any isolated/hot mech that isnt covered with Streak friend. I have tried LMG's,MGs and HMG's on those 12 ballistic variants and havent found a sweet spot combination yet.

I also prefer the ballistic ones over the energy only ones.

It's tricky to use, fragile and very deadly. I'm enjoying mine!

(The trick is to know when to break off and run away rather than trying to face everything down guys!)

HML's to open armor and LMG's to eat components. Works really well on all the ballistic-having fish.

If you want silly fun, try and keep a 4xLAMS fish alive on a hot map. On a cold map, no problem with skill nodes and that quirk, but hot maps...

For the energy builds, try 6 cERMeds. Its hot, but with the high mounts it is an incredibly good peak & poke mech.

You know I've been trying to do 12 ER Micro Lasers on the energy builds. I might have to try a one-two 12 ERSL punch on them like my Nova does. That might work.
