I'm No light Pilot by any means. I usually stick with and just better in mediums and up
So I was a little Iffy getting this mech. At 20 tons it does pack alot of weapons
Even if some of them are small. I'm getting used to it.

So far I'm only pulling an average 300 to 400 damage max on my good Matches.
Some matches have been awful but you have to think that a couple hits and your done
For. If you can somehow convince any other Pirhannas on your team to gang up
And work together on an enemy mech then it's deadly as hell. If not and your on your own then
It is a little bit difficult. It definitely is the "Hunting in packs" type of mech.

Also it's been intense for me piloting this mech. I'm not used to 140 Kph. Yeah
I know you Locust Pilots are like whatever dude. But it's Bam Bam BOOM fast
Attacks get in get out. Turn around. Come back attack , Dodge every thing coming at
You. One wrong turn and your dead.

With all that being said, I actually like this mech. I'm definitely still breaking it in
And trying to figure out what builds work best. If your into Light Mechs this one
Is something you should get.

This is everyone's new nightmare. More annoying than A locust on your ***.

All in all it's fun.

More annoying than a Locust because the Locust got pounded by nerfs and never had that kind of firepower to begin with.

I'm slightly salty.

In my opinion, it's just as I predicted way back when the Piranha was first asked for on the forums..

It's OP for a light, and rapidly becoming the next great annoyance.

Sure, it's not too hard to kill it, but is so small you usually don't notice one until it's chewing your rear torso clean off.

More than one ganging up on you is certain death for any mech in the game.

And it's rapidly making me happy that clans don't have Stealth armor..

Hella annoying!

Wait for the overheat then bam one shot kill it and it is a side blind cockpit they can only see in front. Its a very very weak mech with no role on the battlefield unless in a pack but people will stop playing it and you will be lucky to see one in 2 weeks lol

Really? Gauss against a tiny mech moving and dodging at 140 kph? I don't think that is the answer.

Any weapon that hits a Piranha is gonna cause him problems, but the challenge is in getting a hit. So boating weapons with better hit probabilities on a fast, dodging light mech is the key for now.

I dusted off my old streak SRM 6 Stormcrow and got a bunch of kills on piranhas, some single shot kills, but only because there were a lot of the little guys running around with them being new and all. Once the initial interest wears off, it might not be worth it to bring this mech into quick play matches.

Anyway, a fast medium with streaks or boating lasers can usually make life tough for light mechs and help protect the rest of his team if they stay together. Right now this is a fun role and helps produce a few more wins for my team. And I get some more kills for myself in the process too.

Dual gauss is a fantastic anti light weapon with it's high velocity and doing all the damage at once to one component, instantly legs piranhas for example.

Yep not right answer... but dual heavy gauss... Mmmmmmm.

But because heavy gauss have to use standard engine, it's ok! You don't have to chase piranhas, they come for you... or at least they think they do, till they get 1st hit and and lose something between a limb and life.

I have no issues with them as far as their hit boxes. They aren't impossible to register damage on like the Commando. What I have an issue with are the crit finding with the MGs. I was in a heavy (running a good amount of back armor) and I went off to one side to try and get angles (only 1 grid from the main body, didn't Leeroy Jenkins across the map) and one got behind me and in less than 5 seconds I went from pristine to minus half my weapons and in less than another 5 seconds with him just doing one orbit I had lost 5/6 weapons. That's just stupid. If this continues you will start seeing lots more deathball mobs because nobody will dare try to flank or do any tactical maneuvers.

Bear in mind, in lore, the fish was designed as an ANTI-INFANTRY platform. It was not designed to take out mechs in any sense.

The enemy of all light, poorly armored mechs is absurd front loaded pinpoint damage. Lights can spread lasers, and they can make most missile pass around them because they're smaller than the grouping, but 30/50 Gauss damage is 30/50 Gauss damage. Ain't crap you can do if you're targeted by someone who can aim.

Admittedly, most people can't. I know I have issues.

Agreed, I’ve literally been one shotted by ACs in my locust.

Hey. The Locust was almost 1/3rd as dangerous as a Piranha at one point. Of course it got nerfed. It's IS.

Now give the Piranha some buffs. It actually takes some effort to get 600 damage out of it. Unacceptable in a still-for-cash-only Clan mech.
