In addition, since the leg is mounted on the side torso, you lose the leg, too.
Experienced in Megamek.

It's all in how deep down the rabbit hole of rules you go.

I play with them "ALL" on, well as many as are compatible with one another. Makes for the richest BT experience you'll ever have.

You can find an example of it in Here. Somewhere after the building collapse (from jumping on a building), my Blackhawk (Nova) loses its side torso to enemy fire after getting back up and as a consequence, loses both the arm and the leg at the same time. The rest of the battle is spent jump-jetting around as I only had one leg.

Also fun: A battlemaster and a Shadow Hawk kick a Dire Wolf... between the two of them their kicks obliterated a leg in the same fight. Also Kool Aid man tactics do not work well.

The people need some clarification, here. Tabletop core rules do not include these quirks, although the fluff (and art) made them clear.

However, there were supplemental rule books that contained advanced, optional rules that the players could use. Which rules were mandatory and which were optional changed over time, IIRC, in particular with the removal of fire and smoke from the core rules when they went to the most recent re-writing.

Never said it was a core rule; just a rule. An optional one as are design quirks in general; but as I often say I play with all the rules.
