Grinner is far tankier because of 5 tons more and Armor Quirks but the Cheetah has JJs and Clan XL so it can survive an ST destruction for the speed it runs at.

5x isMPL vs 5x cERML

Which one is more fun?

Do you like clan lasers or IS lasers? There is your answer.

Depends what you like as El Bandito. But considering tech disparity weighed to clans, the ACH would par better cause it's far more meta. If you aren't really looking for meta for fun, it's probably safe to say that it's not either of these in the first place.

I've guessed that it basically boils down to isMPL vs cERML.

Short ranged wub or medium ranged vomit.

But the Cheetah can jump....

In a 1v1 situation the Wolfhound demolishes the Cheetah, but it ends up boiling down to if you want a close ranged focus, tanky light mech with 5 MPLs able to dominate other light mechs to get behind enemy lines or if you want a mid ranged, mid alpha, high heat light mech with some jump jets that positions itself around enemy lines attempting to get shots on them without getting shot up.

Wolfhound is basically a commando team moving in to take out targets and killing any hostiles on the way while Cheetah is an assassin set up to take out its target from afar as it moves by.

Well, I have the WLF-2 I was working on. I love it. My question is if the ECM makes it a legit alternative. I have enough MC built up from events to add it to my EXTENSIVE hero collection. Hm...

I found my wolfhounds in general to be decent cheetah hunters. Thats right, wolves hunting cats. The way it should be!

Oh look... now we have fish on legs too!

Well, the Wolfhound was originally designed to hunt the Panther (and Jenner) down. Glad that it can kill other animal robots too.

Because obviously the Grinner cost MC. But I just had to test it out myself so I bought it and this thread is now useless Posted Image

It is really a great mech, you will not regret it. I have put 1xERLL and 4xERML in mine and it's a great skirmisher ! I have take some time to find a build that suits my playstyle but in the end it is one of the best 35 tonners.

I tend to prefer this build to the MPL build for the extra speed.
I'll even stealth armor and 5 ML load it sometimes.

But to compare the Grinner to the Cheeter, I dunno, I play them very differently.

Wolfhound. Its tankier, and can carry a larger engine.

Also stealth armor is awesome.

You could also add K-9 to the list, awesome mech with MPLs or ERML. I actually own two of them... 1 for each build.

Most of my Wolfhounds (all except 1) carry 2 weapon types - something "big" in the arm (LL or PPC family), then Small or Medium class lasers in the torsos.

Most of my Arctic Cheetahs (all except 1) carry 1 weapon types, Small or Medium class lasers.

I perform better in an ACH, but I have more fun in a WLF.

For me, it comes down to a choice between engine tuning + XL death vs JJs + safer XL. Or MGs Posted Image

So much this. A stealth grinner can get up all close and personal and looking right at a nice, well rounded backside before firing.

p.s. I really was tempted to go with a whole more innuendo after that "well rounded backside" ...

So it's basically a toss-up between the two now that I have both.

The Grinner is way tankier (has 1.5 times of torso armor) but the Cheetah has JJs which you can use to your advantage for making the enemy miss their shots against you. JJs are also all around useful.

In a close ranged fight, the Grinner with its MPLs or Medium Lasers is superior. I find that isERMLs do too little damage for their range and heat in this 'mech.

Although the Grinner can use Stealth Armor, I think the PB (peanut butter) and NARC-Raven are better suited to it.
