Yesterday (after reading this thread) I dropped in this BJ-1 build for a match and did a nice ~425 damage match, killed an enemy Blackjack mech, plus helped completely pester the long range heavy and assault mechs preventing them from taking free shots at my team. At ~800 to 1000m a dual gauss hit isn't the deadly hit it is from inside 600m so I can take the hits to deliver my damage.
I think my range for the AC2s was around 972m, though I may be off by a few meters. I tried to stay outside 800m until I had to get closer to find enemies.

True, but I've noticed that people don't seem to use their eyes that much and take their sensors for granted. My Raven is literally a vivid shade of green that doesn't blend into any environment at all, and people STILL fail to notice me.
