sadly not enough players for either the "make two separate sections for Teams and Pugs" or the "ban all Solo from FP". personally I thing the second is the most horribly idiotic idea I have every heard for the problem. not everyone wants to go to a secondary site to find a group or even have the hardware to run both the game and a secondary program (like TS) just for their group chat. I know I don't. cutting the majority of the games population from a game mode is just stupid in all ways. PGI simply needs to get more players interested in the game. still doesn't fix the 12-man vs PUG problem.

then again I always hate the elitist mindset in any game. i'm a solo but I play with the team as best I can. don't have the time or patience to deal with finding a group or do I want to deal with the "oh you don't use only these mechs, you don't use this Meta, or you haven't played long enough" bull **** that I have to deal with when looking for a group. I just want to have fun win or lose I don't care as long as I feel I did well and enjoyed the game. that means you will very rarely see me using a Meta build unless its just something that works well with that particular mech and its something I enjoy.

mind you I will say that for the most part folks in game chat are more friendly than you find in other games but here on the forums its a whole nother story.

any fixes would require a higher population (nerfs not needed in my opinion) and QP can only hold a new players attention for so long before they say "hey I want to try something new". that inevitably leads them to FP for the rewards you can get. next thing they know its 5 steam rollers in a row and they simply say f this game and leave entirely. perhaps giving new players a few more mech bays at the start, say 2 extra would help. so that if they say get one Clan and one IS mech as their first 2 they aren't screwed over for getting 4 mechs to run FP (yes I know you can sell mechs and buy bays for real cash but most new players aren't going to want to do that). personally I always liked the feel of IS mechs but that's just me. hell I dipped my feet in FP with 2 custom mechs and 2 trials with the obvious outcome. thankfully instead of the hatred I would have gotten here on the forums I got calm friendly advice from more than one player on the team. so I stayed out of FP till I had 4 mechs I thought would do well. perhaps a chat lobby just for finding a group would help so you don't have to go outside the game (which most new players would know nothing about and many never even think to look at forums, only reason I did was because I was bored one day).

sorry for the rambling all over the place but that's my 2 creds on the matter.

Nah, the biggest problem is 'solo's' taking that word literally.

Queuing up alone, doesn't mean you are going to be playing alone or are not going to be part of a team.

Not surprised by the attitude of adamantly anti-social players, that relevant solutions is limiting groups from playing together.

I would think premades in general do not require you to drop certain mechs or run meta builds except for certain higher end units or MS who loves their MPL crabs. The thing about being able to find a FP group is usually based on the experience people in the group have with you on the battlefield. Damage is the most important factor, if you do less damage with 4 mechs in FP than a top 10% pilot does in QP then you definitely can forget about finding a group. Meta builds are meta because based on the current patch and gamestyle they are most optimal and hence you would notice that people who top the damage charts in FP are running meta builds. Hence if you want to find a group that gives you a good chance of winning your FP games, you must either play meta or become so insanely skilled that you do extremely well in non-meta builds, which I would definitely recommend the former. Only after when you get group invites regularly can you afford to clown around in non meta builds.

I queue solo but typically run from 500 to 1000 damage range...even then I am still lowest 4 on the team. But I do follow instructions and work with team. I am just not as good as 75% of the rest of the team...even with optimal meta builds

I have not had anyone give me a hard time and people have been decent to me.

I think it’s the new people who run off on their own, shoot fellow players in the back, or just plain suck that gets elitists butt hairs in a knot.

Last few days Clan has been doing better
