The Naga splits crits for its Arrow IV, so yes.

No. Some mechs aren't meant to carry AC/20's

in this game or in Lore and TT? is the CN9 one of those mechs?

the down side would be the loss of Arm motion, so their is a penalty attached to that Bonus?

you dont lose arm motion from removing hand actuators

there would be no reason not to remove hand actuators

all this would accomplish is every mech removing its hands which is ridiculous

mechs have hands for a reason. hand actuators just need to have a reason for existing. thats preferable to getting rid of them.

make hand actuators give a bonus to hillclimbing. thats all we need.

it doesnt just stop that

it stops other loadouts like x3 AC20s too.

which right now only one mech can do

letting mechs remove their hands is a very bad idea

both from a balance standpoint and an aesthetic standpoint

yeah but they could just make the ARROWIV hardwired in MWO (i.e. cant be removed)

that would be the easiest way to get it in the game without having to add critsplitting

and because of the nature of artillery weapons, it makes sense to limit artillery weapons to specific mechs like the NAGA rather than allowing every mech to use them.

Are you omni-mech?
If yes then OK.
If no then NO! Emphatically.
This is min max Tom foolery!

How about making hands useful? That is more relevant.
Eg.
No hands? No batteries in incursion.
No hands? Watch your salvage score drop.
No hands? Watch your hill climb suffer.
No hands? No melee. Oh wait...

You can't remove the upper arm actuator, so no LB 20-X or HGR in the arms for you. Plus, the HGR is supposed to generate so much recoil that arm-mounting is impossible even if you had the slots for it.

In that case, then I give this proposal a resounding "meh".

YES to the idea! Let IS mechs carry 3 DHS in the arm by removing hand actuators!

no because then no IS mech would ever choose to have hands again

if everyone removes the hands on their mechs, mechs having hands effectively becomes pointless.

its better to force mechs to keep their hands and make hand actuators do something like give a hill climbing bonus

and balance ISDHS by making all ISDHS into true double heatsinks instead

Except I have lobbied to Russ about making hand actuators useful for hill climbing, for many years already. Nothing came off of it. Which is why I simply deemed PGI incapable to make such coding, thus offering them far easier alternative.

Give mechs with hand actuators a salvage bonus or something, since they can use them to pick stuff up

The year is 1988.
The game is Crescent Hawks Inception.
The mission is collect the battlefield rubble.
You select a mech with no hands (Locust).
You find the rubble. You don't have hands.
Mission scrubbed/failed YOU DON'T HAVE HANDS!
Properly coded 30 years ago!
