What came in the repair bay is this TDR-7SE, so much armor has been stripped, and most of it is by it's right side. The right torso has suffered a powerful hit, providing it massive flower-shaped mark. Overall such mech suffered massive damage, even the pilot was hit and wounded.
The FedCom Civil War was nearing it's end with the impending victory of Victor Steiner-Davion at the New Avalon, with this pilot's only regret is being unable to see it through the end.
With a thick German accent, he held upon Yuna Cassell's hand and begged her. There were tears with blood as he held upon her hand.
With this pilot's dying wish, Yuna patched up the Thunderbolt (TDR-7SE) the best she could, and allowed the pilot to return to duty. The engine has been upgraded into a Light-Fusion Engine, there is only two jump-jets remaining, only providing jump distance of 60 meters. With only a few supplies she could get, the 'mech is protected by nine and a half tons of light ferro-fibrous armor.
Yuna had an idea of transferring the ballistic mount at the right-torso on account with the hole that was made by the impact. The primary weapon has been changed to a pair of Rotary Autocannon 2 provides a blistering amount of rate of fire, the use of which allows it to rip across vehicles, infantry, and battlemechs alike. Although with two tons of ammunition, it is usually exhausted pretty quickly.
For long range support it has 10-tube Long-Range Missiles situated at the left torso with a ton of reload. The Medium Lasers upon the torso have been upgraded to Extended Range Medium Lasers. And for close-range, and it has a pair of 4-tube Short-Ranged Missiles, one in each side-torso, and has a ton of reload. Against infantry and other lightly-armored vehicles, it has three Extended Range Small Lasers by the arms.
Christened "Edelweiss" because of the flower-shaped scar of the battlemech by the right-torso, the mark of the true soldier, it stands for duty, loyalty, for brotherhood. Yuna and this soldier never met again after the Civil War, but she knew that he died as he lived.
If we're ever going to have second hero mechs, I'd like a ballistic Thunderbolt. I wanted it to be different in two ways; most missile hardpoints, and the high-mounted ballistic variant.
"Edelweiss" is the theme I chose, the unknown pilot is supposed to be German, and the 2x RAC2 primary weapon by the right-torso is supposed to mirror the MG42 and it's high rate of fire. It should have a large "flower" by the right torso just by the rotary ACs, as it's supposed to be a powerful shell that gave it.
The story is relatively short, I based it from the late stages of the Civil War, at the second battle of the New Avalon.
So, what do you think? Is the lore okay? do you mind a ballistic thunderbolt? What about the quirks, what about the hardpoints?
