Eh it can be more maneuverable, but Dire has it beat firepower wise.

and if firepower was the only thing that mattered the direwolf wouldnt be bad

but its not the only thing that matters, so it is bad

MKII is better than a DWF
KDK is better than a DWF

As someone that has mastered 5 DWFs with a ton of historical XP on them I can assure you that they did not creep with the power creep.

My favorite build is MPL vomit + 2 Gauss but I also have UAC5x3 + UAC10x2 and UAC5x6 and 4xUAC10 and 4xLBX10.

The MKII and KDK can go faster than it, and the MKII has a very small amount more agility and mobility than it.

DWF king of the battlefield days ended a long time ago.

KDK-3

Just look what I can do with a KDK 3. Battlemechs > Omnimechs for that very reason.

I can put a similar build on a MKII -1 and the Deathstrike can achieve a lot with 6 ERML or 6 MPL and 2 Gauss.

The Blood Asp will be another nail in the DWF's coffin.

DWF needs some survivability quirks at this point. Not on the same level as the ANH but enough to compensate it for the power creep.

Lol. If firepower was the only thing that mattered the Dire would be the best mech in the game.

Its not, so it is balanced. Not quite as good as the Deathstrike, but still an extremely strong assault. I wouldn't do a couple matches in a Dire everytime I play the game if it was bad.

Not sure what your reason for it being bad is aside from low maneuverability. That can be countered by using good positioning.

Lol another one.

Dire outperforms that KDK all day.

I play it so it can't be bad

Fixed it for you.

Not much of an argument.

I did the DWF event in 2 matches, 1 was 930 damage the other was the rest I needed and 500 extra. Still not a great mech though.

Vs the non-argument of putting up a KDK build that is objectively worse in every category aside from being 8 kph faster (56.7 kph, much wow, such speed)?

That KDK build is the same build I use foe the MCMkII 1 but I didn't strip much off of it and kept stock engine, and same for my fresh new wolf but with extra firepower to open up most assaults in one alpha, and pretty much said before to counteract it's mobiltt weakness superior positioning will fix it.

Man, I run that Kodiak build in a Night Gyr. The alpha is lacking compared to the other options. Dire Wolf's speed isn't a problem at all, its the agility that hamstrings it a bit. It runs a super high alpha peek build but the thing has low mounts and low accel and decel so it can't peek without giving enemies ample time to either put it down or get out of the way.

I know with my Annihilator I'd have over half their CT armor stripped, at least one of their alpha's worth of armor ripped off of them before their guns got over a hill. The things are relegated to a more defensive role where they are overwatching the enemy rather than peeking on them, quite similar to the Annihilator honestly except it doesn't really have the DPS to deter pushes from multiple enemies nor does it have the massive armor quirks of the Annihilator.
