Absolutey Stupid Builds.

I have always hated the Ghost heat rule, I understand why its there, but i'm not happy with it. Especially since lights have to adhere to this rule pretty hard in order to not overheat and then explode.
I got to thinking about how i could squeeze the hell out of the cougar build i have and i came up with 5HML 2HLL, the rest of the tonnage i have available, and all over slots are stuffed with heatsinks. If i alpha on a cold map, i shut down but have no damage to my core(that i noticed anyway) however if I'm doing anything other than popping out and just dropping a big 86 point strike on someone for a definite kill, I can only fire my HML OR my HLL(usually i stick with my HLL's because they generate less heat) either way its damn fun.
This is essentially what it looks like: <a href="http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=574&l=a3555b29b63c0fad10b649b36068ffb93fdf8dfe">COU-C</a>
Anyone else have some entertaining builds(even if they arent useful)

ERML + HLL range fits nicely so you can actually do damage to people without walking into streak or SRM or brawler range and it doesn't shut down when you fire (at least once skilled up) and it doesn't break ghost heat so you're actually able to get more than a single shot off without the person you just shot just deleting or eventually dying from overheat.

NARC Raven 3L (it's quirked for NARC): RVN-3L
It's fun to try to light all OPFOR's 'mechs up! Even more so now that you have new tech like Stealth Armor.

As long as it doesn't get too hot, you can continuously blind people while doing decent damage. (40/40/20/repeat)
Don't want to be spudding (overheating) in front of this thing. Provides much amusement though.

I remember this as well, the intended play style for what i have set up is waiting for someone to be engaged and then giving them the heated butt drill. Not being seen/noticed is pretty important. Your build idea seems pretty solid. Maybe I'll try it when i'm feeling less like a locust pilot?

Difference between 71 damage and 86 usually doesn't matter much if you're shooting them in the rear anyway, if you're out flanking you can hit people up with the 71 damage booty blast from nearly 500m once skilled up and likely just delete them then and there. Little bit lower heat lets you do it a bit more often too. Can work out pretty well. Good luck.

Cyclops Q runs it pretty well and handles better. Top speeds not great though.

I run a Cyclops Q with MRM100 and a Light 340. I run mine with 2x MRM40 and 2x MRM10 because it's lower tonnage than other combos.

I'd split the HLLs to the left, so you have a 35/36 damage split on your R/L sides. Like this.

You could try this. TBT-7M LRM speedboat.
With skills it has plenty of ammo, back-up lasers, TAG, almost full armor.

Used to hit hard then shutdown for most of the match.
Nowadays that build just explodes from ghost heat.
