So, topic says it all.

I've downloaded the steam version in the past, and bought some content, then I deleted it. Now I'm playing the version I got from the official website.

If I buy content in Steam now, will it be available? Or do I need to download the game from Steam first?

It's attached to your MWO account, which is the same whether you are on Steam or the stand alone client.

Uh, but how will Steam know which account is mine? Unless it was recorded the first time I dl'd the game from steam and logged in with my MWO account...ok, I bought the hero pack, I'll log in and see if it's been delivered.

Bought the mech pack. Logged into the game 5 mins later - no mechpack....

what am i doing wrong?

Steam doesn't know what account you are playing.

You always log in using MWO credidentals anyway, even when you are "using" steam.

I believe when you buy something for MWO using Steam, you will get some kind of code ect which you will then claim. Someone who knows better can tell more.

Mechpacks are delivered hourly I recall.

I mean, it's a little late for this, but you can also buy that mech pack from PGI for $20.00 directly, you don't need to go through steam. https://mwomercs.com/solaris-7

Turns out I had to launch the steam version to get the mech pack. Well, case solved.
