I have recently gotten a shadow cat and fitted it out with this build.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...783183055de4dae

I know it a derpy build but it works (bear in mind that I am in tier 5)

the way I play this mech is in the early part of the game I rush up do a bit of spotting. once the match has progressed a bit I'm now peaking out and double tapping the uac 20 + med laser or flanking and double tapping the uac 20 + med laser into the enemy rear armor, then running away and repeating.

I am thinking of changing the build to this.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...dacb15cd239365a

but I'm use to having weapons mounted on the right side of my mech as I own hunchbacks and a centurion.

tips, build or anything is appreciated

everyone is probably going to tell me that i'm bad for taking ECM off the shadow cat, but if you want to run the dakka, you should try this build, i feel it has much more combat prowess if you can stay on your toes and light footed.

3xERMed + 1xUAC/10/2.5t
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9dba62990c03644

if you want ECM and still want to back stab try this;

3xASRM6/2.5t 1xERPPC
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...81b9e4e3cf1baa3

you can plink with the PPC to weaken them for a kill with the SRMs, both weapons are very cool on their own, or can alpha twice for 50 damage.

Don't think you're nuts. If going without ECM, a UAC 10 in that side torso is fantastic. Dislike your second build, though. I'm more a fan of 3x ASRM6, 3.5 tons of ammo, ECM, and 2x SPLas, but for pug matches those could easily be swapped for ERMLas instead.

Derpiness aside, what makes me cringe with your build is the low leg armor. Legs are already enough of a weakness to reduce the armor.
I think you should lower the UAC caliber to an UAC/10 like on zudukai's build.

edit: also, I don't see the reason why you'd want the UAC on the left side. You have better convergence and "pokability" with all your weapons on the same side.

Bit of a bump, but it didn't seem worthy of its own thread. Upcoming side torso omnipod will allow the Shadow Cat to pack a heck of a whallop for a 45 ton platform as squirrely as it is. You give up ECM, but you gain a significant firepower bump.

You can fit 4x ASRM6, 4 tons of ammo, 2 uER (optional), and 2 external DHS, now. Torso clustering should be pretty tight. 48-52.8 damage, depending if you use the uER or not. Might just use that extra half ton for more SRM ammo, anyways, or a LAP instead of the uER, to reduce the extra heat load for practically non-existent damage output.

For scouting mode, this should be a fun little ride!

for luls i threw on 4xSRM6 and 2xHLL, never before has the shadow cat had an 84 damage alpha... Muhahahahaha

84 damage for 84% heat means that this is joke build, however.. 50% of that is HLL, 34% is for the splat volley, if you can't get to 50m for the convergence, you can still poke at 500m with the HLL, definitely humiliated some very experienced pilots with this build.

Strolled into public queue with an experimentally upgunned version of it. Too hot, and probably too much ammo, though. So back to the original build for me. Still, I brought it out and rocked over 1200 damage with it.

Top kek.

my 3x streak6 shadow cat was a gold winner in most games, but some find streaks difficult to use. my other shadowcat love had 6 machine guns and some missiles to accompany it, but it's in a complex situation now with the newer machine gun boating lights.

For Dakka, anyone try quad AC2? or UAC 2?

i've done dual UAC/2+ERPPC and it's meh to weak with "low" DPS and low alpha for high facetime, so while you can exploit angles you cannot do enough effective damage.

however it's all high mounted in each side torso so that's kind of nice. you should strip the arms, but even still it has way too little ammo... try it with the ammo nodes and you might do ok.

I'm loving the Shadow Cat so far.

My build.

Basically the same as my Cougar, just less ATMs and a lot more speed and durability.
