Good Morning All !

It's a fine day in MWO, for those of you that are still here and, the Valentine's event I just read does not contain any MC values in it.... Oh pooh.......(sigh).

PGI: if you are reading this: a lot of us that are "part-time" players now will only come visit when MC is listed for the events !!! Sorry..........

I wonder, if sales are off? What are your thoughts forum warriors......

Valentine's isn't even a real holiday, so only a few cosmetic rewards and a handful of C-Bills. And honestly, the fewer part-timers who only play during events (and therefore are generally terribly unskilled due to lack of experience and/or overall playtime) the better. They tend to make games worse, even if there are a handful more concurrent rounds running.

Those Players that only come for MC-events don't benefit PGI in any shape or form:
-so bad at play, that they discourage other players, because they "unfun" the game
-don't generate any income for PGI
...
No reason to cater to them. On the contrary: better to keep them out, because they might frustrate the regulars

PGI has been more than generous with the MC lately, imho. I think this event is fine.

This is what happens when you "spare" the MC and thus "spoil" the children. ;)

There are many other signs sales are off besides lack of MC in events:

2017 MWO Tourny prize pool less than half of prior year? Check

Seemingly never ending sales on older mechs when before sales were far between? Check

Multiple sales running at the same time when never done before? Check

Including more expensive/much desired camo if preorder packs when prior ones contained mediocre/cheaper ones? Check

Flip flopping on premium time being included in packs? Check

Including an item that preorder people thought would be exclusive to them for at least a few months in a sale item? Check (BTW - worth the $6.95 to get some bonus MC and the bagpipe warhorn on my meta mech to do a number of the events going on at that point).

The MC prizes were a nice way to get some people to play that might not otherwise. Especially those that have plenty of CBills and mediocre cockpit items. But, I’m sure the CBills are helping a lot of people’s alt accounts, like they did for mine. That will keep player population up a bit. Until the people running multiple alt accounts stop playing.

After going over this I have decided. Yes. Completely necessary.

PGI giving away MC is nice, but I hardly think it's a necessity to take part in an event.

I like free CBills just as much as I like free MC.

Think for a moment; A lot of the new Mechs are starting to release for CBills. This event is giving out millions of CBills a day. This is a Valentines event where PGI is effectively giving us free new mechs.

Yes, PGI was generous over xmas.....although, as many have said before me, it wasn't anywhere near enough for buying the expensive Heavy and Assualt mechs.... (many of us don't spend real money on games........)

Actually, yes.... Any sale boost their margin. Anything to drag players back to the game is worth it. C-bills aren't value added to the players that have been here a while and then, wandered off... MC and good prizes might. They can't and won't fix faction play. They will field Solaris and it just mught fail as well..... Small niche markets need to "go after" those who have rejected the brand and lure them back. Some of you are complaining the if we come back, quality of play will get even worse......I can't see how that is possible?

Thank you the responses; and, for those anti-social few, good luck when no one is left.

But in all seriousness. PGI gave away A LOT of MC. 2 free Hero's (more if you kept up). Tons of C-bills. Cockpit baubles. Sitting here and asking for more, smacks to me of a spoiled child who says: "Wheres the rest?" when all the presents are done on X-mas. It escapes me how you are offended for HIM!? (Battler asking for handouts?)

Hammer, with respect, PGI is a Canadian corporations and it is expected to have and use government assistance.... You see this theory in class action lawsuits every year (Bombardier/Boeing, et al.) where American corporations are crying "foul" because the Canadian prices are so much less because of "governmental subsidies"..... (yeah, right.....)

Government assistance may be the only thing that saves MWO because everything else in in the dunny from what I've been seeing of late..... Pick something: player population; balance; no faction play changes; the future of Solaris(?); or, anything else are all hosed up and the forums have been reporting on the "issues" since last May (when I started reading the forum)......and, before I'm sure because of broken promises....

Nice, free stuff, that is value added to the "older/veteran players who have retired" might be the only way back to having fun with larger player populations..... Maybe, maybe not.....time will tell.
