Here's what I wrote:
"The problem with the Florentine is that the Crab works very well as a durable energy boat. Other mechs in the same weight range do a mixed loadout batter. For example the Bushwackerer is much better for dual RAC5's.
I tried a few Florentine loadouts before I found what worked for me.
2 LPL's and 2 SRM4's. If you want to go fast strip armor from the arms for a light 280. Or you can drop down to a light 250 and add 2 light MG's and an extra DHS. Both have Endo and Ferro."
Since writing this I've come to the conclusion that the strength of the Florentine isn't the ballistic or missile hardpoints, it's that it is the only Crab that can carry two large energy weapons outside the arms.

I attempted this build as well (later migrated it to a bushwacker and had much more success with it) I eventually kept the concept but redesigned the loadout.
250 LFE
Endo and ferro
10 DHS
2 ER-mediums
2 LB5X w/ 5 tons ammo
maxed out armor
This redesign has superior DPS and staying power (more than double the ammo count) and superior heat management add in superior mobility and armor as well.
The only trade down was up front damage per shot on the ballistics.Damage output is actually increased by adding the ER Mediums and the higher RoF on the class 5 ACs.
If you are looking for a medium dual LB10X mech go with a Bushwacker X2. It just does it better.

I think you missed the point.
We're talking about the Florentine. Almost any 'mech can be upgraded by using a heavier chassis, until you get to assault territory, which is why players gravitates to heavies. I could straight upgrade my LBX-20 Cicada by rebuilding it on a Hunchback chassis but I didn't want an LBX-20 Hunchie (I wanted a Heavy Gauss Hunchie).
I don't even feel you've given it a proper run before you gave up (assuming you actually ran it), it's barely been 24hrs.
Heat management; It takes over 30 seconds to overheat with continuous fire.
Ammo; I run out about 1 in 8 games, which is a good thing, I find if I never run out of ammo I'm dedicating too much tonnage to it.
DPS: The LBX-10 version has 9.02 vs your 8.06. You're probably looking at Smurfy's "Sustained DPS" which is 0.6 difference. Both are causing in excess of 300 damage before they overheat and you can easily keep going if you ease off on the laser(s)
Your build has speed, armour and heat management going for it, and the latter only matters if you lack trigger discipline.
