I'm thinking Catapult honestly, just looks like its leg joint the most and the way its positioned its like its looking over the city which is something a LRM boat should be doing.

I'd actually say the opposite, it looks like it is facing us. Well, facing off to our left. Gotta agree that it's a Cat though.

People keep asking about Clan tech reveals. Its not going to happen.

There won't be any reveal of Clan designs until we get trounced on The Rock. Just like the I.S., we won't know what hit us....

I actually hope they do it this way. No advance notice at all.

...assuming, of course, that it's a leg and not an arm. The "hip" could be the lower part of a shoulder; the "knee" an elbow. It's hard to tell which way it's facing, so the perspective is off. And, as we haven't yet seen many more of Alex's designs, it's merely guesswork to say it's a leg. It could be a crane! Or a backhoe! Maybe a leg with no 'Mech attached, or an original one-legged 'Mech!

It's little Urbanmechs pogo stick that he keeps leaving out when he's done with it. That mech will never learn to put his toys away......

Very good point, that could be a lead-in to January as Information Warfare month.....

If it's not a Catapult I am going to be a very upset person. Most assuredly one of my most loved mech's.

I'm thinking the developers are having a grand laugh. It's the landing gear of a dropship in some set dressing art. At least that's what my crappy 3025 era targeting low-sap AI is telling me. But then again that thing also ID's dumptrucks as Von Luckner's...so, *shrug*.

With the work Alexz has been doing it could be any of the chicken walkers, or even the "lean back" mechs.

So that would include:
Lights:
  • Locust
  • Raven
  • Mongoose (the lower legs do a weird digitigrade thing)
  • Hussar
  • Firefly
  • Flea
Medium:
  • Crab
  • Cicada
Heavy:
  • Champion
  • Flashman
  • Catapult
  • Cataphract
  • Marauder
Assault:
  • Thug
  • Stalker
  • Marauder II
  • King Crab
  • Reseen Goliath
My gut says it won't have anything to do with the Combine. They've done 4 Drac mechs at this point (Atlas, Hunchback, Jenner, and Dragon are all fairly well identified with the Combine around this time) one from each weight class. Which seems to me most likely they'll do one from each weight class from another house next.

If January is indeed supposed to be "information warfare month" then the Cappellans are indeed the lead contenders for the next batch of rollouts as they're notorious for their love of EW. If we assume it'll be limited to "Capellan" mechs that leaves:
  • Raven
  • Cicada (built on Bryant, which was owned by the Cappies until roughly 3030)
  • Cataphract (Originally a Cappy Design, captured by the Davions during production, built by both)
  • Catapult
  • Flashman (produced on a world traded between the FWL & CapCon for most of the SW)
You could maybe argue King Crab for the assaults, but it's more associated with the Northwind Highlanders as of 3049, and they broke ties with the Cappies in the 3030s IIRC.

So, of those, the most likely to be included in game (At least at launch) would be the Catapult or Raven. Though Marauder I'd say would still be on the table as potential because of it's general availability and the fact that there would be much rejoicing if it got confirmed as in game (Even redesigned, I'm sure most of the hardliners would bend a touch if Alex does a good job, which he will, cause he's Alex)

Would I be crushing everyone's dreams if I said it was the Hunchback's leg facing backwards? :)

No clans in the game launch.
Locust or Marauder would be sweet !

I don't think they are going to be giving us glimpses of Clan 'Mechs, at least not before fleshing out the Inner Sphere arsenal that's going to be available to start with. Not to mention we don't know how the Clans will be implemented.

Even if the game's release corresponds with the Clan Invasion, they won't start handing out Mad Cats or Vultures as door prizes, so why tempt people with what they can't have?

Not enough detail to tell. I'm going to go with dropship leg strut.

It looks like a Catapult's leg. But, if we throw out the leg idea, it looks like a Mad Dog pilot ejecting in a puff of smoke.
