Think a 2X ER Peeper+ECM build would be any good? I haven't been able to run mine yet. Failing that, I was gonna go with a 3X ERML+2XSRM6A build.

Possible? Yes.

Good? Definitely not. You only have 10 DHS- granted, all internal engine sinks, but still only 10. Compare to a 2xERPPC SHC with 14 DHS. Even taking locked equipment into account, the SHC has four more tons of podspace available; it is by far the superior choice if you want to rock dual pugzappers with ECM. 13t is about the hard limit of how much tonnage you can safely wring out of the BKL, and even that requires some not-insignificant armor shaving.

You will have to shave off a significant amount of armor on an already fragile chassis to be able to mount a second PPC with zero extra heat sinks and no ECM. You have 11 tons to play with. 2 ERPPCs requires 12 tons with nothing else. You can do your SRM6 thing if you want but you're not going to have much ammo, and I don't feel teh chassis is well suited for close range engagements like SRMs.

Just take an ice ferret. You'll basically be doing masc speeds once you get speed tweak going, and it's much more agile.

Honestly, though, this game needs more distinction between heavies / assaults and lights / mediums. Too many heavies that are just as fast as mediums and maneuver just as well.

Not as much as you might think. I just stripped the left arm, reduced both legs to 40 each, and reduced the head to 15, and I'm mounting 2X ERPPCs and ECM. No armor reduced anywhere else. (ERPPCs in LT and RA).

Grats. You now have a Shadow Cat with overheating issues. :)

I mean, at least it's fast and has ECM, which at those ranges you can work with, but it's sustained firepower with ten heat sinks only is going to be suffering.

The Black Lanner is limited to ER Large for long range. maybe 1 ERPPC. I think to do anything else with the BKL it would need some serious armor quirks, but since it has ECM that will never happen. So you will have to make that Speed into some sort of tactic.

HLL works pretty well for the chassis as well.

Getting even 300 damage is a struggle with this thing. I've used ERPPC + 4 LMG Cicadas and 3 ERML + 1 ERPPC Vindicators, but this thing is just pure masochism. I've been crippled by Urbanmechs in 1v1...twice. Even the old Mist Lynx (before MG spam) was easier than this.

Seriously? It took me two games to get 1000 damage for my Black Lanner A. The Prime was a real chore, and it took me three games with the C.

Black Lanner Prime: Hat Trick, including a solo kill on an Atlas and 2 KMDD's. But I had a good team.

oh yeah, with a Joystick. Posted Image

Of course in 3 other matches I only got 1 kill, but it can be good.
