Posting this here as there does not appear to be a technical support forum aside from the "Workarounds" forum which only kind of fits the bill.

I've updated to the most recent Logitech software but I am still unable to assign any of my extra buttons to anything.

I've got into settings and removed extra mouse buttons from any assignment so they are neutral. When I try to bind one of the extra buttons it simply does not recognize any button being pressed. Left click, right click, mouse wheel up/down and mouse wheel click are all recognized and function just fine.

I figured I would take the easy route and just assign keyboard keys to the mouse buttons through the Logitech software. Here's where it gets strange. I assigned 3 to a mouse button. When I press that button in game it does nothing, does not fire weapon group 3. When I open up settings and try to bind a function, if I press that mouse button it recognizes the keystroke of 3.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? It would be really nice to be able to use more than 2 weapon groups without having to use the keyboard.

Have you tried assigning functions to mouse clicks in game with the Logitech software disabled?

Thank you for the suggestion. When I closed out the logitech software and attempted to set fire group 3 to a button it recognizes that there is input, but not mouse buttons. One of the side buttons is W, one of them is 1 etc.

EDIT: Verified through task manager the software was not still running providing odd input.

By default MWO recognizes 4 buttons and the scroll wheel. Left/right mouse buttons then two buttons on the side for back and forth on the browser.

Other buttons you would need to setup a profile for MWO then assign actual numbers to them.

Many of the Logitech mouse have the ability to save profiles on in mouse memory itself, so having the software closed will not change the profiles already loaded.

The game will only take note of mouse buttons 1-5 (left and right click, wheel click, thumb buttons programmed to "forward" and "back") for direct binding.

If you want to bind the extra buttons, you need to first link a keystroke to the extra button via Logitech software, then bind the keystroke to the command.

If anyone is more familiar with Logitech, correct me.

Thank you both for this, knowing this I was able to bind the forward/back buttons which I haven't used... ever and assign them as normal. Very much appreciated!

Is there a button assignment change button?
Numerous multi-button mice that I have tend to have a button that toggles what the extra buttons do. Sometimes they can be assigned, sometimes they can't be. But hitting that toggle will also have them take up keyboard keys on many of these mice, in which I can then assign them on the games that otherwise won't recognize them.

Just a thought. Good luck.
